Vietnamese Communists Build Relations With Venezuela

From Cuba's La Prensa Latina

Caracas, May 30 The secretary general of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nong Duc Mahn, was welcomed at the National Assembly of Venezuela on Wednesday.

The Vietnamese leader met at the Federal Legislative Palace with Parliament President Cilia Flores, who recalled that Venezuela has always supported the Vietnamese people's struggles.

That solidarity is stronger than ever today, when a true revolution is being made here, she said.

For his part, Nong Duc Mahn expressed the Vietnamese people's admiration for the Venezuelan people's struggle for national independence, and noted that despite the geographic distance that separates the two countries, "we always harbor sentiments of solidarity and mutual support."

The Vietnamese people will always support the Bolivarian Revolution and its struggle in defense of independence, sovereignty and social progress, he added.

The Vietnamese delegation will meet with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro, as well as members of the national committee to promote the projected United Socialist Party of Venezuela.

Nong Duc Mahn arrived in Venezuela after visiting Cuba, Chile and Brazil.

No surprise about Chavez wanting Venezuela to be just like Vietnam, a complete gulag.
