Amongst one of the latest projects being run by the VUWSA Women’s Group is an “Erotic Fiction Writing Competition”. That is “A chance for you to showcase both your writing skills and your innermost fantasies … You can write to the x-rated extremes so get scribbling”.
Whilst the idea may by amusing it is exactly the sort of thing compulsory student associations should not be doing. Erotic writing competitions have nothing to do advocating students’ university related interests. Rather they detract funding and energy from such activities.
