Scum, Scummier and Scummiest

From the Australian

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his anger at Britain's failure to gag the poisoned former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko in the final hours of his life, the British cabinet has been told.

Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett told ministers the Russian Government had "taken exception" to the defector's deathbed letter accusing the Putin regime of his murder.

Amid signs Litvinenko's death could cause a diplomatic row, British Prime Minister Tony Blair concluded the cabinet meeting by saying "the most important issue" was likely to be London's relationship with Moscow.

Another minister present said: "It caused some alarm that this case is obviously causing tension with the Russians. They are too important for us to fall out with them over this."

New Zeal Silly old me. I would have thought the most important thing is that a man has been horribly murdered, possibly on the orders of the Russian President.

Clearly cosying up to the tyrants of Moscow is more important to some than Mr Litvinenko's life and the feelings of his widow and children.

Have you notice how the "peace" movement immediately went to defend Vladimir Putin with folks like Justin Raimondo along with Pat Buchanan and David Duke running amuck blaming the CIA or hinting Western influence as being "behind" the matter?
