Did Left Orchestrate Fijian Coup?

I am not alone in thinking that the left were behind the recent coup in Fiji.

From today's Fiji Times

The Fiji Human Rights Commission will challenge comments against director Dr Shaista Shameem by ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase.

"I have asked the chairperson of the commission to take it up at the earliest opportunity," Dr Shameem said.

She was reacting to Mr Qarase's statement that the commission, the military, Fiji Labour Party and the National Alliance Party were part of the overthrow of the democratically elected Government.

On Monday, Mr Qarase said he was not surprised at the first eight people who were part of the military government and sworn-in at Government House. Speaking from Mavana Village in Lau, he said that most of those that had been appointed were supporters of the Fiji Labour Party and the National Alliance Party.

"Their appointments confirm to me that it was the Fiji Labour Party, National Alliance Party and the Fiji Human Rights had been part of the overthrow of his Government".

It's quite interesting to see how the far left condemn coups against Salvador Allende of Chile, but then say zip about Fiji.

Well, he'd have to say that. Wouldn't he? Do you blokes all drive Toyotas?

I must say Adolf, I've been a bit surprised by your support for the coup.

I'm also surprised that a conservative like yourself would be supportive of an ardent socialist like Mahendra Chaudhry.

I'll be posting on him shortly. I'd be interested in your comments as you are clearly familiar with the Fijian scene.

What do you know that I don't know?

Far Left, The Far Right...In your world Trevor, everyone is labelled as a turning direction.

Are you going to spend your life, looking like traffic sign like: Turn left with caution, Turn right at red light only.

This black and white perspective is tenuous at best and a tragedy at worst. What happened to up, down and diagonal movements?
