Who'd have thought this was possible a year ago?
Kirkcaldie & Stains broke with tradition this season, taking the autumn fashion show out of the store and into the Wellington Town Hall for the first time. It was a brave move which paid off with close on 700 people attending. Celebrity models Lorraine Downs and MP Rodney Hide joined over 40 models who strutted the catwalk to show women’s, men’s, children’s wear as well as lingerie and fashion accessories.
Hat Tip Rodney Hide
And this man is the leader of ACT. Say no more.
ReplyDeleteDirk.
And extremely proud of him we are.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see pictures of Rodney Hide, I break into a smile.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see pictures of Clark, Key, Peters or Dunne I want to slit my wrists.
Say no more.
I will admit he has a certain Je Ne Sais Quoi about him.
ReplyDeleteBut then I thought the same about many others over the years. I can no longer keep the faith.
Dirk
Rodney is doing well. He will win Epsom. He will win it on the score of his (now) personable manner and his membership of the big-fish-little-pond media circus that is New Zealand politics.
ReplyDeleteNote how he's pulled back on the hard-out right-wing crap though. That's no way to keep the bum on the parliamentary seat and he knows it. Rodney is into being the "amusing, independent MP for Epsom" and his parliamentary pension is assured.
All very well and good but nothing particularly messianic about that !
The next election will be interesting Steve. If Rodney only holds Epsom I'm sure he'll regard that as a dismal failure.
ReplyDeleteWill not just Rodney, but ACT as a whole re-brand itself?
Will it be successful?
There sure is a lot hanging on it.
Rodney as a lingerie model? shudders.
