"Lynchem" Len-Libellous "lliance Leading Leninist Looney

One of most disgusting and libellous signs seen at yesterday's anti Mercury Energy protest was borne by len Richards-until recent times, co-leader of the miniscule Alliance Party.

Len has a long history of looney Leninist political activity.

In 1978 he was a member of the tiny Socialist Labour League, the NZ branch of Gerry Healey (and Vanessa Redgrave's) UK based, Workers' Revolutionary Party. The RCP were very anti Israel and pro PLO. At the time a student in the maths dept of Auckland Secondary Teachers' College, young Len organised the visit of a Palestine Liberation Organisation official, a Mr Shaik to Auckland.

Through the '80s Len was active in the Labour Party in South Auckland, but left in 1989 to join Jim Anderton's crypto-communist New Labour Party.

In a September 1989 article in the late Bruce Jesson's "The Republican" entitled "What to do about the NLP?", looney Len wrote;

"I would be well qualified to write on the "looney" aspect of the left, having, for several years in my not too distant past, belonged to possibly the looniest of all left groups..." The guru was a British madman named Healy... "There is a long road to travel, a long march to take, with plenty of opportunities to show in action, fighting side by side with the people against the common enemy, how "revolutionary" your socialism is! I say: Join wholeheartedly in the task at hand and build a New Labour Party!"

As a delegate to the November 1989 NLP Palmerston North conference, Len allegedly said that;

"big business should be taxed "until they bleed"

Through the '90s Len was active in the NLP/Alliance Party and the secondary teachers union, the PPTA.

In 2002 Len helped establish the radical Global Peace and Justice Auckland, with radicals like priest Terry Dibble, Maire Leadbetter, Mike Treen, John Minto, Jane Kelsey, Socialist Worker's Dave Colyer, Green Party activist Lynne Serpe, Love Chile and Geraldene Peters.

Good ol' Len. Once a looney, always a.......

Kind of reminds me of how many far left types back here in the U.S. suggest that there should be no tax cuts for the rich.

Statements like this really do show just how far off to the right of the rest of the world the US is. It's considered "far left" there not to cut taxes on people who have immensely more than they need? In other parts of the world, that's just called sanity.

Ryan says "Statements like this really do show just how far off to the right of the rest of the world the US is...In other parts of the world, that's just called sanity."

You say Americans are insane. I say your opinion is stupid.

You know how to divide a pie but you don't know how to bake a pie. I'll take my unfairly divided piece of quality American pie over a fairly divided piece of crap Socialist pie.

Eating crap Socialist pie. That may be sane but it's stupid.

HAM,

Obviously if you attack me in every other post, there must be something mentally wrong with you, along with other far left types that do just about the same thing. Sorry to state this to Trev if he takes offense, but I have just about had it with being attacked in this manner.

I think when you have been attacked in this manner, there is something mentally wrong with these people. But that's just me.

So I suppose we should just trust the government to take property? Want to look at what's happening in Zimbabwe under Robert Mugabe? Yea, we should trust the government to tax corporations and take our property to "redistribute" to the "workers".

I would also like to add that the reason why there must be so much hatred for the U.S. and other nations that practice similar economic means around the world isn't merely for their policies, but rather it's because that they are not like the rest of the world is. I think you ryan should check your own sanity and look at what sort of dictatorships often misused these sort of policies in the name of "redistribution" when it comes to going agianst private property.

The "world opinion" hates Capitalist nations not simply for their mere foreign policies, but rather that they believe that Capitalist nations should be like them. Now seriously, I don't care what sort of nation you live in or promote. Just don't come and trend on mine territory and I won't have to trend on yours.

The problem with "world opinion" is that they don't believe in this theory. And if the "world opinion" has anyone to blame for "modern Western imperialism", it's themselves they have to blame for provoking these sort of actions.

You honestly believe that taxing corporations will lead to New Zealand becoming something like Zimbabwe under Robert Mugabe?

And if you don't honestly believe that, why would you waste time saying it?

Workers make the pie. Workers know how to make the pie. Are you a worker? I hope so. Then you know how to make pie.

Delighted to see the fascists, racists and the extreme right wingers (the latter being more or less the same thing as the earlier two), getting challenged by good, decent, balanced folk !

Screwing up their pathetic picnic where the order of the day is to scratch one another's backs furiously and then waddle off to bed, smug and warm. Having put the errant 98% of the world to rights.

God Mah, I'm Close.....Thanks Reid Of America.....Me Too.....Come On In Exotit..... Weez Really Gettin' Orrrrffff.....

It is not 1937 but 2007. Endorsing failed 19th century economics in the 21st century is stupid regardless of your IQ.

Where are the examples of vibrant high growth economies of nations that have high taxes?

There are many examples of nations that drastically cut taxes and subsequently had strong economic growth. Ireland is a primne example. It went from poorest western European country to one of the richest in less than 20 years. They did it by ATTRACTING capital with low taxes and reduced regulation. High taxes drive away capital and reduce economic growth. Those advocating high taxes please give me an example of a high growth-high tax economy?

Who gets hurts most by high taxes? The middle-class.

Doesn't "re-distribution" always lead to the increase size of the state? How does that help people?

Anyone who opposes "re-distribution" must be a "fascist". But I guess increasing the size of the state in order for "re-distribution" to occur must not be totalitarian?

ryan says "You honestly believe that taxing corporations will lead to New Zealand becoming something like Zimbabwe under Robert Mugabe?"

I believe that drastically cutting corporate income tax to a single flat 10% rate permanently will create a sustainable economic boom in NZ. I would also give corporations that move to NZ a 5 year income tax exemption. I would also change accounting rules so capital investment could be expensed instead of depreciated.
Treat capital well and the economy will boom. It really is so simple.

Workers like me just put tab A into slot B.
The capitalist pig comes up with an idea, puts up the funds to buy the ingrediants, machinery, and co-ordinate promotion & distribution... and takes the fall if it goes bust.
A pie made by a workers committee would cost more than it sells for.

Piss off Reid-Ried-Fried-Of-Amerikaaaa !

The day a fascist like you ("Palestinians depraved losers", remember), has anything to do with Nooo Zeee is the day I say "Mein God, Mein God, what have thee done to me ?

"It" is decidedly not so simple though you show every indication that "you" are.

We're not Cuba '56 where you laddies go for cheap "naughtiness" on Memorial Day mate. We're Ngapuhi, and we're tough az, and we take no shit from creeps with unattractive ringlets hangin' down the front of th' ear. So beware !

Mah Mah, you sounding so "collectivist" there. Not sure whether you're for "redistribution" or against it. If you don't know, how the hell a poor, yeoman ragwort farmer in Northland like me gonna know ?

Assistance I seek. From your Vegemite. But no "bullying" or "harrassment" please.

Steve the half-wit from Northland says "We're Ngapuhi, and we're tough az, and we take no shit from creeps with unattractive ringlets hangin' down the front of th' ear. So beware !"

What is Ngapuhi, Steve? Now here I'll admit my ignorance being an American. I'm assuming it is some sort of Maori dance that your people think is intimidating. We give $5 at the tourist center when you stick out your tongue and do a war dance because we are being charitable. It's not because you are intimidating. Those facial tattoos are not intimidating either. They may have scared the melanesians back in olden times but they don't scare people with modern militaries. You know, like the British who conquered Aotearoa.

In order to be intimidating in the 21st century you have to be intelligent, have a kick ass military and the will to use it. You know, like the US or Israel.

Steve, I will no longer be addressing your comments. You don't answer questions that I direct at you and you reply with Maori speak that is incomprehensible.

I will leave you with a nugget of wisdom. Only moral degenerates support the Palestinians.
