Another "Terrorist" Named

An unemployed Grey Lynn man is the fourth of the 17 arrested in monday's terrorist raids to be named.

From the Radio NZ website

One of the men facing charges after last week's nationwide police raids has been released on bail.

Rongomai Bailey, 28, is facing four charges under the Arms Act, including possession of a rifle and molotov cocktails.

He is also alleged to have attended three so-called military-style training camps in the Ureweras.

The judge released him on bail on condition that he not go within 30 kilometres of Ruatoki or possess any firearms or explosives, adding that there was still a chance Mr Bailey might face charges under the Terrorism Suppression Act.

Mr Bailey had been granted interim name suppression but it lapsed at a hearing on Tuesday in Auckland District Court where his lawyer was arguing for his release on bail.

It appears Bailey is a politically motivated individual, with a distinct leftist outlook.

Check out this 2006 statement from Rongomai Bailey.

The less development the better.

I have personally seen our native rain forests here in New Zealand be harvested and exported. Our rivers are polluted so you can't swim or drink from them. Our west coast beaches will soon be mined for iron (to be shipped to china) and some of the last untouched areas of this country strip mined for coal (to be shipped to china).

Environmental problems are very serious for the people who live near them.

Western Civilisation is definitely not "civilised".

The US doesn't need more oil and pollution, it needs to get rid of it's corrupt fascist government and stop murdering millions of people in other countries. It needs to grow up and take some responsibility.

Bailey also appears to claim links to the conspiracy focused Uncensored magazine.

This message addressed to the anarchist/socialist webite Indymedia, claims that Bailey is helping to produce Uncensored and wants suggestions for story ideas.

Does this seem like a naive young boy, hanging around with Tame Iti to learn a bit of discipline and bushcraft?

No, he sounds like a treehugging hippie who wouldn't hurt a fly let alone plant a bomb!
If you're going to make allegations against people the courts have determined are innocent, you'll have to do better than that.
I'm more scared about the increasingly imperialist China using up all our natural resources than I am about a bunch of guys running around in the bush playing wargames.
