Ant-Israel Far Left, Protests in Auckland

The Auckland far left was on the streets yesterday protesting against Israel's partial blockade of the Gaza strip.

There were no calls to end rocket attacks on Israel from Gaza-the reason for the blockade.

From Joe Carolan's Anticapitaliste

"Gaza needs food not bombs!" echoed through the streets of Auckland as 30 people joined a lively picket in solidarity with the people of Gaza today in the city centre. Organised by Students for Justice in Palestine, GPJA and Socialist Worker, it attracted huge support from passers by.

John Minto from GPJA condemned the collective punishment policy that the Israeli government was inflicting on the people of Gaza comparing it with the Bantustans of Apartheid South Africa.

Joe Carolan from SW celebrated the people power revolt that ripped down the Apartheid Wall, comparing it to the revolt in Berlin in 1989, and warned that if Egypt's dictator Mubarrak used troops and riot cops to reseal Gaza's border, the revolt would spread into Egypt. Egypt is the second highest recipient of US military aid after Israel.

Sahar Ghulkor from SJP thanked people for demonstrating their solidarity with Gaza with very little notice, and extolled us to build for two forthcoming days of action on march 1st and march 15th.

March 1st will see a radical theatre group build an Apartheid wall and Israeli military checkpoint outside of Auckland's US consulate, and March 15th promises to be one of the largest anti war mobilisations in the city in years, building support for (a) an end to the occupation of Iraq, (b) solidarity with the people of Gaza and Palestine and (c) the withdrawal of all NZ troops from Afghanistan.

The chickens are coming home to roost. National and Labour's open doors to Third World extremists. Multiculturalism is not only a piece of Leftist deluded nonsense, but it is as dangerous to Western democracy as nitroglycerine.

And the pro-Hitler Palestinian referred to in the posting above was the Grand Mufti, the Palestinians' spiritual head.

Let's get a campaign going to throw out Zaouai and his family, given that he was of the extremist fanatic faction in Algeria.

That will divert Minto's losers and the New Zealand branch of Al Qaeda from picking on Israel.

Maybe we can get the born-agains involved, too, given that in America the fundamentalist Protestants are Israel's biggest supporters.

When the Israelis do something wrong, it's the Israelis' fault. When the Palestinians do something wrong, is the Israelis' fault?

Most people realize that NZ has a very large sheep population and it was certainly on display for all to see in Auckland with that gullible led section of the flock being herded into line by the snapping and barking of those sheep dogs of the far left such as John Minto, a sheep dog who has displayed on numerous occasions in the past those attributes of his whistling masters of a well trained subservient fellow traveller.

Really saying it all is the photographic imagery that would find a welcoming home in the Orwellian Ministry of Truth, of the purple skirted ewe holding the antonymous placard – “The Zionists are the Nazis of the Middle East, ruthless, arrogant and driven by a racist ideology.” – and oblivious to the recorded facts of history, obviously has a penchant for feeding on the slops of propaganda. If she and the other feeble minded sheep took time out and informed themselves of history such as that contained in an October 10, 2007 Leeds University paper by the German scholar Matthias Kuentzel - “Hitler's Legacy: Islamic antisemitism and the impact of the Muslim Brotherhood” - and also realizing that Hamas the internationally recognized terrorist group controlling Gaza being a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, they would, and any others who read that paper realize those protesting in Auckland are taking a moral stand that is supporting ideologies that are the very antithesis of a democratic free society, support concepts and beliefs in genocidal warfare underpinned by a religious fanaticism and thus standing defiantly against human rights.

Anon Meh

I back israel because it is a western ally and the freest country in the region.

I acknowledge that this is not a black and white issue.

I realise that israel was formed using terrorist tactics and that many (not all) Palestinians were dispossessed.

Israel is no more a country of angels than we are.

However on balance i chose to support Israel because I admire the country and its people and support many of their values.

I am not blind to the plight of the Palestinians (nor are most Israelis), however Israel is fighting for her life and I want to see her survive.

If that means taking a hard line against Hamas/Palestinian/Iranian/Syrian terror tactics then so be it.

I am not blind to Israel's history or faults, but If I must take sides between Palestinian terror and socialism and Israeli survival and liberty, the choice is easy.

I wonder how the idiots over at the New Zeel blog can sleep at night knowing they support the Hamas terror group which just fired rockets into Israel killing and injuring Israeli citizens.

I guess it must be "cool" for them to support Hamas terrorists.

12 Israelis have been killed by rocket attacks in the last six years.

At least 7 Palestinians have been killed by IDF attacks this week, 17 this month, and 96 this year alone.

Selective outrage?

"At least 7 Palestinians have been killed by IDF attacks this week, 17 this month, and 96 this year alone."

And where is your criticism toward the terrorists whom hid among the civilian population? Yea, Israel's "always" going to be the "bad guy" for "targeting" civilians on purpose. Never mind the terrorists whom hide among the civilian population.

Where's the protest against them?

How dare you claim that it doesn't outrage me when civilians are killed?

I think people have every right to protest selectively when the civilian death toll is 100/1, as indeed it is in the "Israel/Palestine conflict"

Anti-liberty? I'd like for the Palestinians to live with the liberty not to be killed en mass, to suffer collective punishment for the acts of a few. James, you don't know what liberty means.

Trevor, are you one of these "Israel, right or wrong" types?

Exactly which of Israel's 'values' do you support, Trevor?

Yes.

Wow. The information Trevor has provided about these organisers and their organisations is breathtakingly wrong and full of lies. But i'm impressed with the imagination behind it.

Trevor, how about some proof of what you accuse these organisations of and their leaders? Let's see what you muster up.

-Anti-Flag.

The sort of treatment that Trev has been received by people like you makes me sick. You call him a "liar" but then wouldn't mind propping up a "spoof" blog that lies about him? Yea, what good is that? Whose's the one who has the dirty imaginations?

I also kind of remember seeing a comment by Yasser Arafat of encouraging Palestinian children to throw stones at Israeli tanks:

"This child, who is grasping the stone, facing the tank, is it not the greatest message to the world when that hero becomes a martyr? We are proud of them."

I don't hear you anti-Israel types condemning Arafat or Palestinian leaders for WANTING Palestinians to get killed by the Israeli military. It's just how "bad" Israel is. You people are so gullible in taking down PLO propaganda like this.

I don't need propaganda to feel sick to the stomach when I hear of a kid killed by (insert military or paramilitary here).

Don't accuse me of swallowing propaganda. I hate apologists for death equally, be they Israeli, Palestinian, American, Indonesian, etc., the list is never ending.
