Urewera 17 Update-Rongomai Bailey Acquitted

Rongomai Pero Bailey (aka) Simon Bailey, age 28 has been acquitted of all charges relating to alleged "quasi-military" training camps in the Urewera mountains.

Though police allege that Rongomai Bailey had attended three training camps, Bailey was the only one of 18 remaining defendants to be discharged.

Bailey originally faced four firearms charges, including possession of a rifle and a Molotov cocktail.

Rongomai Bailey is the sibling of remaining defendants Tim (aka Ira) Bailey and Emily Bailey.

Rongomai Bailey, like all the Wellington based arrestees had ties to the anarchist community. He was involved in setting up an anarchist "alternative space" in central Wellington associated with the Oblong Cafe.

Bailey also worked with Emily Bailey and another arrestee Marama Mayrick on the radical film Kotahi Te Ao

Ostensibly an environmental film, Kotahi Te Ao chronicles Emily Bailey and Marama Mayrick's visits to foreign radical groups including Mexico's Zapatista rebels.

I'm sure you'd have a different opinion if it were neo-Nazis plotting a terrorist attack in New Zealand than radical Maouri activists allegedly involved.

How many of them were charged with possessing automatic machine guns, rocket propelled grenade launchers, napalm bombs, bomb making manuals or bomb making equipment mah29001?

It just shows that anarchists and commies in NZ have no clue and think they are above the law.

Holding weapons and attending weapons training camps isn't exactly what "normal" people do.

Well heine, That's exactly what I did when I was involved in both the New Zealand Defence Force and the Deerstalkers Assn. I considr myself a fairly 'normal' New Zealander and an Anarchist

he is not "also known as" Simon Bailey his name is Rongomai Peropero SIMON Bailey. It is his middle name used because most NZers cant or wont pronounce his real Maori name. He doesnt have an alias, which obviously people have tried to make seem suspect. Also if you look on the NZ herald website you will see video in which it states the evidence that the Police had against him. IE the fact that he had once bought a bottle of crown cola and the sending of a text which said "what are you up to tonight"
The "evidence" against many of the others is also unlikely to stand up in trial but unfortunatly ,because of suppression orders, I cannot discuss on here
