He was on my flight from Chicago to LAX the morning after the election, was bit of a curiosity standing next to him at baggage collection (everyone was doing double takes) as he wasn't an Obama supporter, I put it down to the fact that the election night party in Phoenix was a bit dead in comparison and he might have just been wanting to watch the enemy...
Bush tore Bush down by being 'easily' manipulated by powerful men around him. This is partly due to a lack of confidence it seems, that he had/has in himself. He was never able to shake off the 'son of Bush' issue. If he hadn't taken the US war machine to Iraq I would still support him today.
That was an unforgiveable mistake that has turned Iraq into a nightmare for Iraqi women, who in the likes of Basra, used to enjoy the freedom of limited western living, free of the burqa, able to go to university, and are now relegated to mosque controlled living, and working in the back rooms, always veiled up, or face death.
This has come about because of the monetary deals made between the US regime and clerics in Iraq in order to buy their peace.
I am glad Bush's regime has been beaten, but I also do not hold much hope in the Obama regime either which is proving to be just as intrusive as the Bush regime.
