Things have changed dramatically two years ago. Prior to that we had stupid or dishonest politicians who would routinely run up debts and misuse funds. But we have never had deficits like we have now. $1.6 trillion give or take a few hundred billion is incredible. It could not possibly be simply because our politicians are stupid and/or dishonest. It could be an intentional attempt to collapse our economy and government. It could be a whole new level of stupidity and dishonesty that recognizes the end is near and want to steal as much as possible before it all collapses. Whatever it is we have passed the point of no return. Even if we balanced the budget tomorrow we can not pay down the debt and we will not be able to p[ay the interest on the debt once interest rates rise. And rise they will...
The US dollar is on the verge of losing its status as the world's reserve currency and when, not if, that happens, we will not be able to inflate ourselves out of debt by printing even more dollars.
The cost of living in this country will rise exponentially.
