North Korea Moves on Timor

Since winnining independence from Indonesia, East Timor's "former" Marxist leaders such as Mari Alkatiri and Xanana Gusmao have been busily forging ties to China, Cuba Angola and now North Korea.

From Korea News

Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- President of East Timor Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao extended thanks to the Korean people for their support to the struggle of the people of East Timor to build a new society when receiving credentials from the DPRK ambassador to East Timor on April 11.

He stressed that East Timor is attaching great importance to the development of the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and East Timor and it would make all efforts to boost them.

Why are Kiwi troops and NZ taxpayers propping up an emerging neo-communist regime in one of the most strategically important choke-points in the world?

Why are we on the same side as North Korea, China, Angola and Cuba?

No surprise of East Timor having North Korea move in. It's major employer-China has already moved in first.
