Helen Clark-Security Risk? 1

In a few short weeks former Prime Minister Helen Clark will become head of the United Nations Development Program-controlling an annual budget of $9 billion and 7,000 staff operating in more than 130 countries.

For decades the United Nations has been accused of using Western taxpayer's money to finance third world radical movements.

Helen Clark's new job would be an ideal position for someone wanting to fund and support revolution.

What is Helen Clark's background? Just how radical was our Prime Minister?

Does it matter?

Helen Clark became a far left radical during her time at Auckland University from 1968 to the early '70s.

According to Massey News April 3rd 2008

She recalled her time as a student at the University of Auckland from 1968...when student demonstrations rocked Europe and the United States. In New Zealand students were involved in opposing the Vietnam War and Helen Clark said she joined the student executive of the Halt All Racist Tours organisation when it was formed in 1970.

Trevor Richards

Halt All Racist Tours (HART) was a Maoist led organisation-founded by Auckland University radical Trevor Richards. The name itself was dreamed up by long time Communist Party member and pro-Mao Maori radical Tama (Tom) Poata.

Trevor Richards was inspired to set up a new group to oppose the proposed 1970 Springbok Tour of NZ after attending a meeting with South African anti Apartheid campaigner, Dennis Brutus.

Tom Poata

According to Geoff Chapple writing in "The Tour" (p11, the organising meeting was held in July 1969. "It included in its membership CARE, the Student Christian Movement, the NZ Federation of Maori Students, the NZUSA, the Socialist Forum, and the Maori Organisation On Human Rights, whose secretary, Tom Poata, drove up from Wellington and suggested a name: Halt All Racist Tours - HART."

Richard's remained chairman of HART from its foundation, until 1980 and remained International Secretary until 1985. While downplaying communist influence at the time Richards confessed in his book "Dancing On Our Bones" (p 210) "In the late 70s, a number of people within HART and its leadership including myself, were sympathetic to what was referred to as Marxist-Leninist-Mao Tse Tung Thought".

In February 1975, Trotskyite, Russell Johnson wrote in Socialist Action on the rival Maoists plan to cease publishing their newspaper, "Maoists discuss dumping'The Paper'". Johnson claimed that "The Paper" was founded 18 months ago by "Wellington adherents of Stalin and Mao" and went on to name names Trevor Richards (HART) and Joris de Bres as "The Paper" supporters.

Joris De Bres, a long time marxist radical was appointed as New Zealand Race Relations Conciliator, by the Clark Labour government in 2002.

Another leading HART Maoist was Richards' number 2 man, HART deputy leader Mike Law, 1974 "The Paper" business manager, now a Waikato University academic.

According to a "Sunday" magazine profile of Helen Clark (December 10 1989 p30);

"She was at university when people like Trevor Richards (Halt All Racist Tours) were there. Another she was close to was Michael Law, now the director of the Centre for Labour and Trade Union Studies at Waikato University."

Clearly Clark was no HART "hanger on", but was close to the organisation's leadership.

This is significant, because but for the cancellation of the 1972 Springbok Rugby tour of New Zealand, HART may have become this country's first serious terrorist organisation.

A friend of mine was a regular visitor to Trevor Richards' 101 Rugby Street Christchurch flat (effectively HART's national HQ) in the lead up to the tour.

There he was told of plans to blow up Mt Cook Airline terminals if the 1972 tour went ahead.

Mt Cook Airlines was contracted to carry the Springboks around New Zealand.

He was also told that all of the Labour cabinet would be executed after the "revolution" with the exception of its two Maori members Whetu Tirikatene-Sullivan and Matt Rata.

HART came under heavy police and security service scrutiny at the time and was infiltrated by at least one undercover policeman.

Writing in his 2007 book "Adrenalin Rush" Andy Bell (aka HART radical Andy Anderson) told (p218)of a faction of HART's leadership who planned to shoot South African Rugby board president Danie Craven-in New Zealand.

Furthermore Bell was told (p221)that if Craven's killing failed to stop the tour, individual rugby players from both the All Blacks and the Springboks would be murdered until the tour was cancelled.

Bell also claims (p202)to have foiled HART attempts to attack policemen with hydrochloric acid and spiked knuckledusters.

Andy Bell believes that the tour was cancelled by then Labour Prime Minister Norman Kirk after a three hour intelligence briefing he personally delivered to the PM on HART's violent plans.

The security services certainly took HART seriously enough to want to keep members out of any position to do with national security.

In October 1974 Don Swan, a Labour party member, was sacked from his temporary storeman's job at Linton military camp as a security risk. Swan was involved in the New Zealand China Society, The Paper and served on HART's national council.

Helen Clark, was also active in HART and the Labour Party, but was never sacked as a security risk.

In fact Helen Clark went on to become Minister in charge of the Security Intelligence Service.

Ironic?

Helen Clark-Security Risk? 2 here

Why So Happy About Helen?

Conformation that former Prime Minister Helen Clark is to take the third ranking job at the United Nations has been well received.

Why?

Though it is good that Aunty Helen will no longer scare young children in New Zealand, how does her "promotion" benefit the planet?

Helen Clark led the most intrusive, immoral, arrogant, petty, vindictive, destructive and I confidently say, most evil government in New Zealand's history.

She now goes on to hold high office in the most corrupt organisation on the planet.

How is that good for anybody?

How is it good to promote a petty tyrant, who did her best to wreck a country of four million, to a position where she can influence the lives of billions.

For God's sake, some are even calling Helen Clark's new position-head of the UN Development Program, a stepping stone to the UN Secretary General's job.

Shudder...

Most low level government jobs are subject to security checks. They don't let just anybody clean toilets in military bases or access sensitive personal information.

Unfortunately once you are in an important elected position, security checks no longer apply.

Helen Clark has a record that would probably disqualify her for the lowest of Ministry of Defence jobs in New Zealand.

Yet she is now on her way to a hugely influential position, in charge of allocating billions of dollars into some very dubious parts of the world.

The UN has a record of supporting radical leftist causes all over the planet-with Western taxpayers money.

Helen Clark will be ideally placed to keep up this fine "tradition".

Is Helen Clark fit for such high office? Was she fit to be the Prime Minister of New Zealand?

Is Helen Clark a "security risk"?

Spirit of America 2

The other thing I love about the US is the way American patriots wear their heart on their sleeve.

Jim Pera is a retired San Francisco police officer. I met him in Washington DC, where he addressed Cliff Kincaid's press conference on the Weather Underground.

Jim is a passionate American patriot and a loyal member of the police fraternity.

Jim wrote this group email a day or two ago after four policemen were gunned down in Oakland California.

It is written from the heart.

To my fellow Cops, Active and Retired and all the rest of my friends,

Yesterday, I was driving east on Interstate 80, heading for Sacramento. I was listening to the Michael Savage Show. It was a little past 3:00 PM and the funeral for the four slain Oakland Police Officer's had just ended.

Michael was dedicating his entire show to the tragic loss of these four officers and as usual was not mixing words about the bum who shot them and the decaying cultural and social situation, fueled by hypocritical and corrupt politicians, some of whom spoke at the funeral, which contributed to their deaths.

He announced a fund, set up for the families of the slain officers and prompty pledged an additional $10,000 to the $10,000 that he had already contributed and told his listeners that they could find the information, on where to send donations, on his website.

Then he asked everyone out on Americas highways to turn on their headlights. A few minutes after he made this request, I was aware that on this sunny day, that there were and inordinate number of cars with their lights on. They were in back of me, alongside of me, as well as coming from the other direction. This continued as I left Interstate 80 and began driving south on Interstate 5. By this time, I to, had my lights on.

As I listened to his show, I heard a caller from the Las Vegas area, stating that this show of support, for the fallen police officers and their families was also occuring in her area. Because the Savage Nation is heard all over the country, I imagined that many lights were on, at the same time, in many of the lower forty eight.

At about that time, something occured to me. If there are that many people out there, who think like we do, i.e., those of us who pay the freight and provide all the support, for the infrastructure of these United States, then there is still hope for this country, despite the dominance, at this particular moment, in our history, when the left and all those who are trying to destroy our Republic, are in power.

It's time for all of those people, who had their headlights on, yesterday, to start making noise. We should all be rocking the boat, yelling at the politicians and shouting down the ignorant idiots, such as those degenerates, who marched in Oakland the other day, while celebrating the deaths of the Officers, who gave their lives protecting the citizens of Oakland.

The communists, socialists, radicals and those who continue to suck the blood out of the American Eagle, while living on welfare for decades, demanding more handouts, from the rest of us, have been doing all of the talking. They are parasites and will continue to drain the life out of our nation, if we let them. It's now time for us to stand up for our country, while we still have a country to stand up for.

When they tell us that we are politically incorrect or that we are right wing whackos because we don't buy into their idea of a utopian nanny state or that we are bigots, we need to be politically incorrect. That means that we need to tell them to go to hell.

Vote the bums, who are destroying our economy and the values that we all hold close to our hearts, out of office. Yes, give the government an enema and elect new people that want to serve us instead of being served. Flush out the halls of congress and the senate and send the robber barons home, to steal no more.

Find a statesman and a patriot to run for President, next time around, if we're still around to have a next time.

Like I said, all those people with the headlights on, who constitute the silent majority, have got to start raising hell and making their presence known. It's time to shut down the malcontents, parasites, corrupt politicians and the leftist who want to take your hard earned assets and share them with the bums of the country.

The left will call us nuts but then that's part of their strategy and it has worked well for them for decades. Most people get gun shy about having that tag assigned to them. As for me, call me anything you want. I say it's time to push back.

Rest in Peace Officers. Thanks for you service to your community.

Now, lets turn on our headlights and run over those, who are trying to highjack our country.

Amen to that.

Spirit of America 1

What I love most about America is the widespread understanding of the tremendous gift of the US Constitution.

The Constitution's framers understood that the American people's freedom depended on their ability to defend themselves from criminals-domestic, foreign and at times governmental.

That is why many Americans are so fervent in their defence of the Second Amendment to the Constitution-the right to keep and bear arms.

Below is the most compelling defence of the Second Amendment you are ever likely to see.

Watch this LADY educates U.S. Senators On The Second Amendment-her last statement is the most important.

Cuba Moves On Tonga

From Cuban news agency Prensa Latina

Nuku ó alofa, Tonga, Mar 12 (Prensa Latina) King of Tonga George Tupov V expressed on Thursday his sympathies for Cuba and his wishes to strengthen cooperation between both nations while receiving Cuban Ambassador Jose Luis Robaina.

The Cuban diplomat, to have his permanent venue in New Zealand, presented his credentials to the monarch as Cuba's concurrent representative in Tonga.

In the last three weeks, Cuba has opened diplomatic concurrencies in Fiji, Samoa and now in Tonga as part of its policy to broaden relations with countries of this region, where its health cooperation is ever increasing.

During their meeting, the King and Robaina exchanged views about possibilities to strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in health, education, sports, agriculture and human resource training.

Tupov V recalled his visit to Cuba and the pleasant impression left on him by the Island's social breakthroughs, the quality of its ballet and culture in general and its impressive achievements in public health.

Obama File 70 Obama's Socialist Attack Hounds to "Block" Blue Dog Democrats

Obama File 69 here

President Obama's leftist base is rallying to support his upcoming first budget.

With opposition to Obama's massive spending spree growing, the US left is mobilising to neutralise both Republican and moderate Democratic Party opposition.

Obama's far left allies are explicitly targeting moderate "Blue Dog" Democrats in order to force them into line.

From the Communist Party USA's People's Weekly World

President Obama appealed to the people to throw their support behind his first federal budget to help pull the country out of the deep economic crisis. Speaking at his second White House news conference the President said the $3.5 trillion Fiscal Year 2010 budget is “is going to need the support of the American people,” adding that it is “inseparable” from his economic recovery program.

He defended the billions allocated for green, renewable forms of energy, for health care, and education... He renewed his call for tax cuts for middle-income families and higher taxes on the wealthy. He called for elimination of wasteful spending on Medicare and in military procurement.

Obama's base groups most of the leftist mass organisations which helped push him over the line last November.

A coalition of 100 organizations initiated by Americans United for Change was already answering Obama’s appeal, launching a grassroots campaign to push through Obama’s budget in the face of stubborn opposition by the Republican right and a handful of Blue Dog Democrats.

The coalition includes the AFL-CIO and many of its affiliated unions, ACORN, SEIU, U.S. Catholic Conference, the YMCA and YWCA, NAACP and dozens more organizations with tens of millions of members.

Organizing for America, with more than 14 million people who helped elect Obama in its database, launched a door-to-door campaign March 21 in support of the budget. MoveOn has scheduled a similar effort.

Behind many of these organisations lie the hard red core of the Obama movement-specifically Democratic Socialists of America, Communist Party USA and the ultra left Washington based "think tank" Institute for Policy Studies.

The Peoples Weekly World went on to say;

Robert Borosage, co-chair of the Campaign for America’s Future and William McNary, president of USAction announced a grassroots campaign to pressure Blue Dog Democrats to vote for Obama’s budget. Eight of these Democrats joined with Republicans in opposing efforts to win passage of a Budget Resolution that included the $684 billion health care fund and tens of billions more for Obama’s green energy program. It requires only a simple majority of 51 senators to pass a Budget Resolution so it is not subject to a Republican filibuster that requires 60 senators’ votes to end.

Borosage accused Blue Dog Democrats led by Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) and Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) of “giving away the store.”

“If they feel a little heat at home they may see the light in Washington,” he said.

McNary said 50,000 members of USAction will mobilize in the Blue Dogs’ districts.

“The people voted for change last November,” he said. “We cannot allow senators to get cold feet or become unwitting accomplices of those who don’t want change.”

Robert Borosage is one of the most influential leftists in America.

According to Discover the Networks Borosage is;

A former New Left radical and onetime Director of the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS), Robert Borosage co-founded (with Roger Hickey) both the Campaign for America's Future and the Institute for America's Future. He also founded and currently chairs the Progressive Majority Political Action Committee, the activist arm of a political networking organization whose aim is to help elect as many leftist political leaders as possible...

From 1979 to 1988 Borosage was Director of the Institute for Policy Studies. In 1988 he left IPS to work on Jesse Jackson's presidential campaign, for which he served as a speechwriter and an assistant in framing responses to policy issues.

Borosage also has worked for such political figures as Senators Paul Wellstone, Barbara Boxer, and Carol Moseley-Braun.

Wellstone, Boxer and Moseley Braun were all far leftists. Moseley Braun in particular was the product of the same Chicago communist/socialist coalition that produced the Barack Obama phenomonon.

Borosage remains a Institute for Policy Studies Trustee alongside leading Democratic Socialists of America member and Progressives for Obama founder Barbara Ehrenreich.

Institute for Policy Studies has links to Communist Party USA and is extremely close to Democratic Socialists of America. It also has a long history of links to communist intelligence services and third world revolutionary movements.

In my view IPS is a key component of the Obama machine.

William mcNary is a long time Obama friend, colleague and advisor. He was also a Democratic party delegate for Obama at the Democrats 2008 convention in Denver, Colorado. McNary is also close to Democratic Socialists of America and has a strong and long term relationship with the Communist Party USA.

William McNary left, receives an award at 2005 Chicago DSA dinner.

An article in International Socialist Review of January/February 2009 covered the US antiwar coalition, United for Peace and Justice (UFPJ), national convention in Chicago-December 12 through 14 2008.

The article's socialist authors complained that UFPJ (which is almost totally controlled by DSA, CPUSA and Committees for Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism)had neglected the anti War movement in favor of electoral politics.

While the U.S. continues to occupy Iraq and is planning a major escalation of forces in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the conference drew only 248 attendees, fewer than at its convention last year. Such a low turnout should come as no surprise; UFPJ has not called a major national antiwar demonstration in close to two years and has invested the bulk of its resources either directly or indirectly into campaigning for the Democratic Party.

The key question facing UFPJ and indeed the entire antiwar movement is how to deal with the new challenges and opportunities under the incoming administration of President-elect Barack Obama. At the convention, a majority of UFPJ’s leadership and featured speakers argued forcefully that the antiwar movement should credit itself for helping get Obama elected and should be encouraged that the peace/antiwar movement had—finally—an ally in the White House.

“We have elected the most progressive mainstream politician imaginable,” declared William McNary, president of USAction/TrueMajority, at the opening plenary. McNary went on to describe Obama as our “quarterback” and that the movement’s task is to “block for” him.

The football analogy is apt. Obama is the ball carrier for American socialism

The job of the left is block all opposition, so that Obama can score touchdown after touchdown for Team Left with as little opposition as possible.

If that means "blocking" some of the president's own Democratic Party team mates, so be it.

Beijing Barbarians Bolster Burmese Butchers

Why does New Zealand tolerate either of these murderous regimes?

From the Communist Party of China International Department website

NAY PYI TAW, March 26-- Li Changchun, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met with Than Shwe, chairman of the Myanmar State Peace and Development Council (SPDC), here on Thursday, during which they exchanged views on developing good-neighborly and friendly ties between China and Myanmar.

Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, was on a visit at the invitation of the Myanmar government.

Li conveyed greeting from Chinese President Hu Jintao to Than Shew in the meeting. "China and Myanmar are good neighbors, friends and partners, and the China-Myanmar friendship, which was built on the basis of Five Principles of Peaceful Co-existence, has withstood the ordeal of time and the changes in the international situation," Li said.

He described the features of China-Myanmar ties as "mutual respect, equally treatment to the other, mutual trust and sincere cooperation." Bilateral ties scored new progress after the ardent of the new century with frequent high-level contacts and increasingly mutual trust in political areas, he said, adding that the two nations also collaborated with the other in regional and international issues.

The development of good-neighborly, friendly and cooperative ties with neighboring countries constitutes an important part in China's foreign policy. "As friendly neighbors and developing nations, China and Myanmar face similar tasks of development. We should seize the new opportunity to develop bilateral ties under the complex international situation," he said.

He urged both to push forward concrete cooperation. China encourages the Chinese enterprises to carry out mutually beneficial cooperation with Myanmar in energy and resources, infrastructure, agriculture, industry, mining and telecom sectors, he said.

Li also highly spoke of the progress made by Myanmar on political construction, national reconciliation, economic development and the improvement of people's life.

Than Shwe commended China's socio-economic achievements. Myanmar is one of the first countries which recognized the new China after its founding in 1949. "The people of Myanmar is proud of this," Than Shwe said, adding that "the further growth of bilateral ties comply with the fundamental interests of both."

He reiterated that Myanmar supports China on issues related with China's core interests.

Economic Wisdom From Sir Roger

ACT MP and former Labour Finance Minister Sir Roger Douglas, is one of the few MP's who understand why we're in the economic mess we're in and what we must do to get out of it.

Here's Sir Roger-telling it like it is.

Time To Get Real About Deficit

Thursday, March 26 2009

New Zealand finds itself pushed further towards the brink of economic collapse. We have been in a recession for over a year, and the figures that are coming out from Treasury and Statistics NZ suggest that things are still getting worse.

Today, it has been revealed that our current account deficit for the year ending December 31 2008 was over $16 billion - the largest it has ever been.

During 2008, we racked up a deficit of $4,000 for every man, woman and child in New Zealand.

However you run the numbers, they are astonishing. We've had over 15 quarters where the current account deficit has been over $3 billion. The position has become so dire that the Reserve Bank has been selling assets to keep our dollar strong and finance the deficit. In the last six months of 2008, the Reserve Bank sold over $11 billion worth of assets.

The bad figures do not end there. Most worryingly of all the figures is the fact that we have $90 billion of debt that could be called in by foreign creditors in the next 90 days - and there is no way we could afford it.

That external liability could be okay. In the minds of our investors, our situation will not deteriorate further if they have confidence in New Zealand's economic prospects. That means we must get our policies right to ensure that overseas investors have that confidence.

Finance Minister Bill English has demonstrated that he understands the problem. He talks of the pressure on our economy from such a large current account deficit. But, in the next sentence, he announces plans for the Government to borrow over $40 billion in the coming years to finance a bloated and unsustainable Government sector.

National is not to blame for this crisis. The Labour-led Government increased Government spending massively over the past nine years. It forced compliance costs on private businesses, making them less competitive. That loss of efficiency made us struggle to compete internationally, and has exacerbated our current account deficit. Households used debt to finance their desire for consumer goods, and household debt surged. This has led us to the brink of financial disaster.

But National is now the Government. There's no point whining about Labour's terrible economic management - National has a duty to do something about it. They need to stop complaining about Labour's spending binge and start cutting some of those unsustainable programs.

Having managed New Zealand through difficult times, I understand how important confidence is. Consistency of policy is the only thing that leads to credibility in the Government. In turn, this creates the kind of confidence that New Zealanders need to get through this pain.

Governments must be consistent to ensure that the market can predict what the Government will do. All this talk of bailouts and the like undermine certainty. It suggests to business that the Government may begin to actively pick winners and losers.

But such an approach is a recipe for disaster. The US has embarked on a shambolic and inconsistent bailout policy. Ideas have been ad hoc - the market has suffered - with thousands of dollars lost by ordinary families.

National's rolling maul has the potential to do the same thing. Ad hoc policies, developed in response to the news of the day, will ensure that investment slows even faster. Stability is what is needed.

Once we have consistency people will start to see the Government as credible. Certainty that the Government knows what it is doing and is managing the recession is very important. Without it, we will suffer as political responses swing even more wildly trying to impress the latest focus group.

With consistency and credibility comes the confidence needed to encourage and retain investment, and prevent the collapse of our dollar that would be caused by a flight of wealth from this country.

We need to deal with our deep-seated problems, which are putting New Zealand at risk more than anything else.

National will say that it is doing the best it can - that it is cutting the size of Government. But people who believe that are struggling to see beyond the smoke and mirrors. The reality is that around 70 percent of State spending is in the areas of health, welfare, and education - the Government is not tackling these areas.

In fact, the Government is stuck in the past; wedded to the idea that Governments can actually deliver these services through the monopolies they have set up. To put us back on the path to growth, we need to make several quick changes in policy.

1) We need to immediately abolish those departments that deliver no social benefits. Who has ever heard of an earth-shattering report from the Families Commission? What does the Charities Commission even do? Why do we need a Ministry of Economic Development when we did alright without one until the fifth Labour Government - and that's without even looking at the political correctness that has led to the Ministry of Youth Development or the Ministry of Women's Affairs.

2) We need to focus on the dollars, not the cents. It's not about cutting five percent from some budgets here and there. It's actually about reducing the amount of spending undertaken by the State until we balance the books. An economic crisis is not caused by the small stuff; it's caused by unsustainable and costly Government policy.

3) We need to change the way we deliver social services. At the moment, only the wealthy have access to healthcare when they actually need it. Only the lucky have access to the successful schools. Only the politically-connected have job security and inflation-indexed wages. We've set up a system to help the poor and ended up delivering benefits to the privileged few.

It is not about whether we have a duty to the poor - ACT agrees that we do. It's about how we make good on that duty. Labour thought that throwing money at it would work. But the extra money it threw at health led to a drop in hospital productivity of around 15 percent. The cost of that loss of productivity was thousands of operations. The cost was people dying on the waiting list. Big Government does not work. Any major failure shares a common denominator: Government command and control.

Only by restoring choice to the individual will they be able to access the social services they need. That means handing over the money we currently spend on health and welfare, and asking individuals to purchase their own insurance and meet their own obligations. If we structure the welfare system right, we can make sure every one has access.

The Government needs to have more faith in the people of New Zealand. People understand there is a trade off between the short and medium term. People realise they must work hard now for a promotion in the future. Politicians need to understand that the public is willing to accept the potential for short-term pain so long as their prospects in the medium term are good.

Mr English is very good at telling people what the problems are. He's good at telling the public how it is affecting them. But he has been very poor at setting out a comprehensive way to solve our problems. That failure is causing a lack of confidence that will harm us even more. By looking for the short-term fix - the cycleway, or the nine-day fortnight - we are ignoring the bigger picture and the real problems that need to be addressed.

Let's get real. Tinkering with policy will not reverse the causes of slow productivity growth and a stagnant economy. Let's be bold and make ourselves prosperous again.

Couldn't dispute a word of it.

Report on Washington Press Conference

I just got back from 12 full on days in the US-Baltimore, Washington DC and Chicago.

On Thursday 12th March, I addressed a press conference in DC (at the Washington Press Club) organised by Cliff Kincaid of America's Survival and Accuracy In Media.

Yours truly, right

The conference at the prestigious National Press Club focused on an unsolved 1970 bombing/murder credited to the terrorist Weather Underground-led at the time by long time Obama friends and supporters Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

The conference called for a fresh look at the nearly 40 year old case, the February 16, 1970 murder of of 44 year old father of two, Sergeant Brian McDonnell at Park Station police headquarters in San Francisco. The FBI and San Francisco police are treating the case as live and last year arrested some former black terrorists for a possibly related bombing in the city in the same era.

Sgt McDonnell was checking a noticeboard for results of police union elections (in which he was standing) when the bomb, mounted on a window sill exploded. Sgt McDonnell died of his wounds two days later.

According to one of our speakers Larry Grathwohl (an FBI informant inside the Weathermen), Bill Ayers claimed to him at the time that Bernardine Dohrn had planted the bomb that killed .

An FBI report from the time stated that Bill Ayers's fingerprints were found in an abandoned San Francisco "bomb factory" not long after the murder.

The San Francisco Police Officers union issued a statement in support of our conference and were then told to zip it.

The event which was covered by ABC, UPI Sean Hannity at Fox News, World Net Daily, Politico, News With Views, several newspapers and hundreds of blogs and websites.

Cliff Kincaid, Larry Grathwohl, Jim Pera

Cliff moderated the panel which consisted of Larry Grathwohl, Jim Pera a retired senior San Francisco policeman who was one of the first at the scene after the bombing, leading anti communist historian and researcher Herb Romerstein and myself.

Larry told of life in the Weather Underground, the fanaticism and extremism he encountered and their utter indifference to the huge loss of life their abortive revolution would have produced. Larry's testimony was measured, objective and utterly chilling.

Jim Pera spoke movingly of the carnage he encountered on walking into his bombed out police station. A dazed policeman wandering aimlessly with drawn pistol in hand. Badly wounded colleagues scattered across the floor. His sergeant, 43 year old husband and father lying mortally wounded with metal staples embedded in his neck, eye and brain. He died two days later.

Jim was challenged by a radical talking black guy in the audience who tried to justify such terrorim because of alleged police provocation. Jim wasn't having a bar of it and let rip with an impassioned defence of his friends a colleagues.

Cliff and Herb Romerstein

Herb presented a paper backgrounding the Weathermen's treasonous links to Cuba, North Vietnam and other terrorist and Marxist-Leninist organisations including the Puerto Rican FALN. He shattered the media myth of a bunch of passionate anti Vietnam War activists who just went a little too far. Read Herb's report here.

I spoke on the re-emergence of the Weathermen-especially Ayers, Dohrn, Mark Rudd and Jeff Jones in the leadership of newly founded pro Obama coalition of radical organisations Movement for a Democratic Society. read the paper I co-authored with Cliff Kincaid here.

Here's how Frontpage Magazine's John Perazzo described the event.

On Thursday, March 12, the National Press Club hosted an event where several key speakers urged federal authorities to reopen an investigation into the role that Ayers and Dohrn—both of whom are former leaders of the notorious terror group Weather Underground—may have played in the February 16, 1970 murder of Sergeant Brian McDonnell at Park Station police headquarters in San Francisco.

Ayers and Dohrn have always denied any personal involvement with the Weather Underground bomb blast that killed McDonnell. In fact, their consistent refrain has been that none of the thirty bombs which their organization detonated ever harmed anyone other than three fellow Underground members who were killed in March 1970, when a bomb they were constructing—and were planning to detonate at a Fort Dix, New Jersey dance attended by Army soldiers—exploded unexpectedly in their lab. But one of the individuals who spoke at the National Press Club, Larry Grathwohl—a former FBI informant who actually infiltrated the Weather Underground and held private meetings and conversations with Ayers—contends that Ayers confided to him that Dohrn had planted the bomb that took Sergeant McDonnell’s life.

Thus we see a remarkable scenario taking shape: On Thursday, Grathwohl and his fellow speakers—retired San Francisco policeman (and McDonnell colleague) Jim Pera, veteran congressional investigator Herbert Romerstein, and the renowned researcher into extremist movements Trevor Loudon—urged the Obama Justice Department to investigate the very people, Ayers and Dohrn, who first helped Obama gain a foothold in politics. How will this play with a Justice Department headed by none other than Eric Holder, who in 1999 worked doggedly to secure the release of 16 incarcerated Marxist-Leninist terrorists belonging to the FALN?...

Brian McDonnell was another casualty of the violence practiced by Ayers, Dohrn, and their comrades. Hopefully a measure of justice can finally be delivered to those responsible for his death. And if that happens, maybe someone in the media will have the backbone to ask Barack Obama why he chose to hitch his political star to people like Ayers and Dohrn.

Me I'd like to thank Cliff Kincaid for organising the event and Larry, Jim, and Herb for participating.

I'd also like to thank the media organisations who reported the events and the San Francisco police officers who supported us.

I'd also like to very much thank those who people whose financial support made my participation possible and my many kind and generous hosts in the US.

I also used the trip to make many excellent contacts and to do considerable research, which will see the light of day in coming weeks.

This trip showed me the great contrast between the best of America and its current sorry leadership.

Goodbye-Back Soon

Signing off for about two weeks while I visit the USA.

I'll be addressing this conference on March 12 in washington DC and have lots of meetings, research and some media work to attend to.

The trip is financially covered, but some last minute donations via the PayPal button to the right would help me get to some more out of the way places.

A very big thank you to those who have helped me so far.

I have disabled all comments on the blog until I return to prevent New Zeal being spam bombed.

Obama File 69 The Communists, Obama and the Cesar Chavez Holiday Campaign

Obama file 68 here

For several years a leading Communist Party USA activist has been campaigning to honor the memory of late Chicano Farm Workers Union leader Cesar Chavez with a national holiday.

The campaign has already been successful in California;

On August 18th, the state of California recognized that legacy when Governor Gray Davis signed into law the creation of an official state holiday which will be celebrated starting in 2001 on Cesar Chavez’s birthday March 31st. Also established will be a Cesar Chavez day of learning and service in the state’s public schools where the state’s youth will be taught about Cesar and his union.

But the campaign is working to extend the holiday nationwide.

The mission of Cesar E. Chavez National Holiday, a public benefit organization, is to work for national recognition of Cesar E. Chavez on his birthday March 31. We are forming national, state and local coalitions; organizing volunteer committees; and providing education about the value to our nation of honoring Cesar E. Chavez.

The campaign's director is Californian based activist Evelina Alarcon-who has held several senior positions in the Communist Party USA, including chair of the party's Southern California District and Secretary of its National Mexican American Equality Commission.

Alarcon clearly views the Chavez campaign as a communist campaign-with the potential to build the party's influence;

If someone would have asked me one year ago, can my District really lead thousands? I probably would of hesitated. But today, I say yes, because a few comrades in my district are literally leading a movement of thousands in California for the Cesar Chavez holiday. We are a key part of the core of leaders who are coordinating the whole campaign...

Our participation has opened many formerly closed doors. The California leaders who agreed to my being the public leader and state coordinator of the Cesar Chavez holiday campaign are prominent statewide and even national leaders. Most of them know that I am a Communist. Has this built the Party's influence? Yes. Has it built the Party's credibility? Yes. Is it opening new doors to us in other areas of labor and people's movements? Yes.

Understandably Evelina Alarcon was over the moon in April 2008 when no less a figure than Democratic presidential primary candidate Barack Obama came out in support of a Cesar Chavez Holiday.

From the Cesar Chavez National Holiday website.

April 1, 2008 Washington DC--Evelina Alarcon, Executive Director of Cesar E. Chavez National Holiday welcomed the backing for a Cesar Chavez national holiday from Presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama who issued a statement on Cesar Chavez’s birthday Monday, March 31, 2008.

“We at Cesar E. Chavez National Holiday appreciate the backing of a national holiday for Cesar Chavez from presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama. That support is crucial because it takes the signature of a President to establish the holiday along with the Congress’s approval,” stated Evelina Alarcon.

Several others in Obama's circle are also big Cesar Chavez fans, including Los Angeles mayor and appointee to Obama's Transition Economic Advisory Board, Antonio Villaraigosa-who endorses the national holiday campaign.

Villaraigosa marched with Chavez as a teenager and also worked for Chavez's friend and colleague, leading Southern California Communist Party member Bert Corona.

Villaraigosa is reportedly a close friend of both Evelina Alarcon and her brother Los Angeles Councilman Richard Alarcon.

According to the Communist Party's Peoples Weekly World of June 20 1996;

The Southern California Friends of the People's Weekly World tribute to two of Los Angeles' finest labor leaders, Jerry Acosta and Gilbert Cedillo, became a dynamic rally of elected officials, activists, labor and community leaders in solidarity with labor struggles and in the fight to defeat the ultra-right in November.

"The People's Weekly World and all of us in this room feel very strongly about who we honor today," said Evelina Alarcon, chair of the Southern California District and national secretary of the Communist Party USA, one of the emcees of the tribute...

State Assemblyman Antonio Villaraigoza sent a message and 17 elected officials and more than 50 labor leaders put their names in the program book honoring Cedillo and Acosta...

Presentations to the honorees were also made by...Antonio Aguilar, on behalf of State Senator Hilda Solis, California's first Latina elected to the State Senate...

Hilda Solis is now Obama's Labor Secretary and also a Cesar Chavez admirer. When still in the US Congress Solis sponsored House Resolution 76 which urges the establishment and observation of a legal public holiday in honor of Cesar Chavez.

Not content with presidential candidate Obama's support, Evelina Alarcon went after another member of the Obama family-Barack Obama's younger sister Maya Soetoro-Ng.

According to the LA Progressive website June 22 2008

Addressing a largely Latino audience in East Los Angeles yesterday, Dr. Maya Soetoro-Ng shared stories about her childhood with her older brother, Barack Obama, and the effect he has had on her life. Held in El Sereno’s Hecho en Mexico restaurant, the event drew more than a hundred enthusiastic community activists, local elected officials, and regular citizens...

Clearly designed to draw support to her brother’s presidential candidacy from two key voting blocs—women and Latinos...

Evelina Alarcon (pictured below with Soetoro-Ng), a notable Obama supporter and the sister of long-time Los Angeles politician Richard Alarcon, presented a poster to Obama’s sister commemorating the life of Cesar Chavez.

Alarcon recounted the accomplishments of the late Chicano leader and argued persuasively for honoring his accomplishments with a national holiday. Reminding those in attendance that Barack Obama supports the call to make Cesar Chavez’s birthday a national holiday. Alarcon trusts that if Obama is elected president the holiday will become a reality.

Obama has been quoted recently to say:“As farmworkers and laborers across America continue to struggle for fair treatment and fair wages, we find strength in what Cesar Chavez accomplished so many years ago and we should honor him for what he’s taught us about making America a stronger, more just, and more prosperous nation. That’s why I support the call to make Cesar Chavez’s birthday a national holiday. It’s time to recognize the contributions of this American icon to the ongoing efforts to perfect our union.”

The anniversary of Cesar Chavez's birthday is due March 31.

It will be very interesting to see what President Obama does to progress "notable Obama supporter" Evelina Alarcon's goal of a Cesar Chavez national holiday.

Obama File 68 Obama, Antonio Villaraigosa and the Harry Bridges Connection

Obama File 67 here

Shortly after winning the November 2008 election President-Elect Barack Obama appointed Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to his Transition Economic Advisory Board.

Formerly Hillary Clinton's campaign co-chair, the appointment of Villaraigosa was seen as a unifying move, a nod to Clinton Democrats, to Latino voters and to Los Angeles, California and the West Coast.

It was even more than that. It was a gesture of solidarity to the California left, second only to Chicago as a crucible of the "peoples movement" that brought Obama to power.

It was a salute to a man whose rise to power, in many ways paralleled Obama's own.

Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961, Tony Villar as he was known then, was born in Los Angeles in 1953.

Obama was memtored as a teenager by Frank Marshall Davis, a writer and Communist Party member who had moved from Chicago to Hawaii in 1948. Davis was close to the communist controlled International Longshore Workers Union (ILWU) which dominated Hawaiian politics for decades. Davis was close to ILWU head, San Francisco based secret party member Harry Bridges. When contemplating moving to Hawaii Davis "wrote to Harry Bridges, whom I had met at Lincoln School. Bridges suggested I get in touch with Koji Ariyoshi, editor of the Honolulu Record...

The Lincoln School was run by the Chicago Communist Party. Koji Ariyoshi was a leader of the Hawaiian party which controlled the ILWU affiliated Honolulu Record- which Davis went to work for.

Australian born Harry Bridges was a long time leader of the ILWU. The US government fought for years to deport Bridges for his ties to the Communist Party-which Bridges understandably would never admit.

The Communist Party front Committeee for Protection of Foreign Born (CFPFB) spent considerable time and money keeping Bridges in the US. Frank Marshall Davis was listed as CFPFB endorser as late as 1973-three years after he began mentoring the young Obama.

Years later it was revealed that Bridges was not only a party member but served on the party's powerful Central Committee.

Antonio Villar like Obama was raised without a father and went off the rails as a teen, before straightening himself out to study law.

According to the New Yorker, Antonio Villaraigosa has a long friendship with serving California state senator Gilbert Cedillo-who is a close associate of Obama's new Labor Secretary, Communist Party linked Hilda Solis.

Gilbert Cedillo met Villaraigosa at Roosevelt High, and they became close friends...

Through an Upward Bound program, Cedillo was accepted at U.C.L.A.; Villaraigosa went to East Los Angeles College and then transferred to U.C.L.A... They both became active in Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán , a campus Chicano-rights group. And both attended the Peoples College of Law, a night school dedicated to producing public-interest lawyers. (Villaraigosa took the bar exam four times, but never passed.)

MECHA leader Tony Villar circa 1974

Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (MECHA) is a radical Chicano seperatist group with a strong Marxist-Leninist underpinning.

Peoples College of Law was founded in 1974 “by people and organizations, including the Asian Law Collective, the La Raza National Lawyers Association (LRNLA), the National Conference of Black Lawyers (NCBL), and the National Lawyers Guild (NLG).

The NLG was for decades closely associated with the Communist Party.

The New Yorker continues;

Villaraigosa visited Cuba with the Venceremos Brigade, a radical group. And he and Cedillo became deeply involved in Centros de Acción Social Autónomo, or CASA, an immigrant’s-rights organization led by the Mexican-American labor activist Bert Corona, and worked on its newspaper, Sín Fronteras. “At CASA, we wanted to organize the undocumented into unions, instead of seeing them as a threat,” Cedillo said.

The Venceremos Brigades were founded in the 1960s by activists, many of whom would later join the terrorist Weather Underground Organisation. Later it became (and remains) a largely Communist Party operation and still sends an annual quota to Cuba to harvest sugar cane and at least in the past, undergo terrorist training.

Bert Corona, who died in 2001, was an icon of the Californis left. Most sources claim that Corona never joined the Communist Party, but did work with party members and fronts for many years.

Other sources claim he was indeed party member, at least for a time in the 1940s.

During the 1940's, Corona was an organizer for the International Longshoreman's and Warehouseman's Union (ILWU) and was identified in Congressional testimony as a Communist Party USA inside that union.

That's right Frank Marshall Davis's favourite union, the ILWU. How long Corona remained in the Communist Party is unclear, but there is no doubt that Corona was very close to Harry Bridges.

According to Democratic Socialists of America member and Communist Party associate David Bacon;

Corona came to Los Angeles to study at USC, where he went to work and was caught up in the labor ferment of the late 1930s. He became president of Local 26 of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, and a political ally of Harry Bridges, one of U.S. labor's most progressive and democratic leaders.

After Corona was fired from ILWU position union over an internal dispute Harry Bridges, also a major figure within the communist dominated Congress of industrial Organisations (CIO) offered Corona a job as a CIO organizer.

Barack Obama and Antonio Villaraigosa have a common benefactor in Harry Bridges. Had Bridges not helped Frank Marshall Davis and Bert Corona back in the 1940s, the Obama and Villaraigosa might not hold the positions they do today.

I wonder if that thought ever occured to them as they sat across a table planning America's future?

Justice for Victims of the Weather Underground

Yours truly will be speaking at this event in Washington DC.

Excerpts from Cliff Kincaid's latest Accuracy In Media column:

The bombing was listed by the FBI as the work of the Weather Underground, but Ayers and Dohrn, two of its top members, never claimed credit for the blast.

A live version of “Forensic Files” hits Washington, D.C. on March 12, as pressure mounts for an expanded probe of Bill Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, and their alleged roles in the 1970 bombing murder of a San Francisco policeman. Ayers and Dohrn, now university professors, were members of a communist terrorist gang called the Weather Underground during the 1960s and 1970s whose aim was to support communist regimes and anti-American movements around the world and destroy the United States. The group received terrorist training in Communist Cuba and was advised by Soviet and Cuban intelligence agents.

A former FBI informant, a retired San Francisco policeman, a veteran congressional investigator, and an internationally-renowned researcher into extremist movements will be appearing at the National Press Club to urge federal authorities to get to the bottom of what really happened on February 16, 1970, when a bomb filled with heavy metal staples exploded and ripped through the body of San Francisco Police Sergeant Brian V. McDonnell at the Park Station police headquarters. McDonnell was in the hospital for two days, bleeding from his wounds, before he finally died.

The bombing was listed by the FBI as the work of the Weather Underground, but Ayers and Dohrn, two of its top members, never claimed credit for the blast. They have tried to insist over the years that their bombs never hurt or killed anyone, except their own members. However, the consistent testimony of former FBI informant Larry Grathwohl, who participated in meetings with Ayers, has been that Ayers told him that Dohrn planted the bomb.

What’s more, the bomb that killed three of their own members when it accidentally exploded in a New York townhouse was an anti-personnel device intended for an Army dance at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Mark Rudd, another member of the Weather Underground, reveals in a new book that he was in favor of planting the bomb, saying that he wanted “this country to have a taste of what it had been dishing out daily in Southeast Asia…” What the U.S. had been trying to do was prevent a communist takeover of South Vietnam.

One might think that a case as old as the McDonnell killing would never be solved. But those familiar with real-life crime shows, such as “Forensic Files” on the TruTV cable channel, know that law enforcement authorities don’t like to give up, and that advances in forensic science have greatly improved the ability to solve the “cold cases.”

To prove the point, in 2007, members of the Black Liberation Army (BLA) were indicted for the 1971 killing of another San Francisco Police Sergeant, John Young. The BLA worked with the Weather Underground...

At the March 12 news conference at the National Press Club, former congressional investigator Herbert Romerstein will release a detailed report on how the Weather Underground waged a campaign of violence and murder that targeted police and the public. Former FBI informant Grathwohl will repeat his calls for further investigation and justice in the case of Sergeant McDonnell, and Jim Pera, a retired San Francisco police officer who worked with McDonnell and was one of the first on the scene of the bombing, will describe the devastating effect of the blast. Ground-breaking international blogger Trevor Loudon and I will release a report examining how a new “student movement,” under the direction of Ayers and Dohrn and others of their ilk, is emerging on college campuses...

Leadbetter Showing Terrorist Solidarity?

Could former Auckland City Councillor and lifelong "comm symp" Maire Leadbetter be showing solidarity for Tamil Tiger terrorists?

Note Tamil Eelam T shirt and portrait of Tamil Tiger leader Prabhakaran.

Maire is the daughter of Christchurch Communist Party leaders Jack and Elsie Locke and sister of Green MP Keith Locke, who also seems to associate with terror supporters. The SIS has been watching her since she was 11.

Maire's the archetypal "red nappy baby" and has unfortunately yet to change them.

Bring Back the Biff!!!!!!

From the UK Telegraph via Family First

Corporal punishment, including the use of the cane and ruler, was abolished in state schools in 1987 and 1998 Photo: GETTY

Government research showed some mothers and fathers believed corporal punishment was an "effective method of control" when they were at school.

They said the decision to outlaw physical chastisement contributed to a decline in discipline.

The comments - in a study backed by the Department for Children, Schools and Families - come just months after a fifth of teachers called for the cane to be reintroduced to restore order in the classroom.

This week, a report by Ofsted suggested traditional discipline methods such as suspending hundreds of troublemakers at a time and banning children with shaven heads and designer trainers was a good deterrent.

Corporal punishment, including the use of the cane and ruler, was abolished in state schools in 1987 and 1998 in the fee-paying sector.

In the latest study, the Department for Children, Schools and Families held in-depth interviews with 48 adults to gauge their perception of behaviour among young people.

When asked to describe what they felt was behind a decline in discipline, they made a series of observations.

This included the "increasing demands on teachers - paper work, planning etc - leaving them less effective to teach and discipline effectively".

The group, which included 32 parents, also cited the "suitability of some teachers to the profession", suggesting that some lacked an ability to "instil respect and good behaviour amongst teenage pupils".

They added that "the removal of corporal punishment in schools, which many felt had been an effective method of control in their day", also affected discipline standards.

Margaret Morrissey, from the campaign group Parents Outloud, said: "When it was used as a threat, rather than being used to actually hit a child, corporal punishment was often an effective deterrent. It was certainly abused in some schools and it could become something of a badge of honour for those that were hit, but the threat could be effective.

"I am just not convinced that in the present climate there is a possibility it can come back. Can you imagine the number of compensation claims it would lead to?

"I really do believe that the problem for the deteriorating behaviour is the political correctness of the last 10 years that has told children to stand up and complain the moment someone tries to tell them off."

A survey of more than 6,000 teachers last year found more than a fifth believed the cane should be brought back.

One supply teacher told researchers: "Children's behaviour is now absolutely outrageous in the majority of schools. I am a supply teacher, so I see very many schools and there are no sanctions. There are too many anger management people and their ilk who give children the idea that it is their right to flounce out of lessons for time out because they have problems with their temper. They should be caned instead."
