Here's some pretty funny (and accurate) cultural sterotyping from a US friend.

The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats
and have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon,
though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A
Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940
when tea supplies all but ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from
"Tiresome" to a "Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a
"Bloody Nuisance" warning level was during the great fire of 1666.

The Scots raised their threat level from "Pissed Off" to "Let's get the
Bastards" They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have
been used on the front line in the British army for the last 300 years.

The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror
alert level from "Run" to "Hide". The only two higher levels in France are
"Collaborate" and "Surrender." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire
that destroyed France 's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the
country's military capability. It's not only the French who are on a
heightened level of alert. Italy has increased the alert level from "Shout
loudly and excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels
remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides."

The Germans also increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to
"Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher
levels: "Invade a Neighbor" and "Lose".

Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual, and the only
threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels.

Americans meanwhile and as usual are carrying out pre-emptive strikes, on
all of their allies, just in case.

And in the southern hemisphere... New Zealand has also raised its security
levels - from "baaa" to "BAAAA!". Due to continuing defense cutbacks (the
airforce being a squadron of spotty teenagers flying paper aeroplanes and
the navy some toy boats in the Prime Minister's bath), New Zealand only has
one more level of escalation, which is "Shit, I hope Australia will come and
rescue us". Australia , meanwhile, has raised its security level from "No
worries" to "She'll be right, mate". Three more escalation levels remain:
"Crikey!", "I think we'll need to cancel the barbie this weekend" and "The
barbie is cancelled". So far no situation has ever warranted use of the
final escalation level.

An Appeal to Moderate Muslims from Charles Wardle

A few months ago I posted on Charles Wardle.

A very interesting guy, Charles converted to Islam in Pakistan, was trained in terror tactics, then sent back to NZ as a "sleeper".

Charles then drifted away from Islam while studying at Auckland University.

Later he returned to the Islamic fold-apparently, so I have just learned, as an agent of the NZ Security Intelligence Service.

Charles' personal mission is encourage moderate Muslims to stand up to the few extremists we have here in New Zealand.

Islam and Muslims are well accepted in NZ and Charles wants it to stay that way. He is acutely aware that it would take only one local terrorist incident to change that happy situation forever.

Charles urges his former co-religionists to cooperate with the police and NZSIS, to make sure our handful of local radicals don't wreck things for other Zealand Muslims.

Simpson Gives the Repubs Some Sound Advice

James Simpson wrote this brilliant piece of advice the new Republican Party Governor of Virginia for the Examiner.org.

Dear Governor McDonnell:

Congratulations on your victorious campaign. It is gratifying to see a Republican return to the driver’s seat in Virginia, the state of Washington, Jefferson and James Madison, Father of the Bill of Rights.

Given your victory, Chris Christie's in New Jersey, and especially Brown's stunning upset in Massachusetts, it is absolutely critical that you send the right message in your Republican response to Obama's State of the Union address Wednesday night.

Please hear me on this.

The reason Republicans are having such stunning success is because Republicans are currently the only viable alternative to the willfully destructive policies of the radical leftist Democrats currently in charge, and those policies are deliberately destructive. As an economist and researcher of radical movements for 25 years, I can speak with authority on this subject. I know this by the enormous mass of evidence available. My writings are but the tip of the iceberg.

Many U.S. citizens however, now recognize the same thing intuitively and have been responding with justifiable alarm. Therein lies the reason for the Tea Party movement's explosive growth. Therein lies the reason people are taking precious time away from work and families, attending evening-long meetings, showing up at rallies and pouring energy into upstart campaigns. Therein lies the reason middle-aged people who never carried a sign in their lives, are showing up – I’ve seen ‘em even in wheelchairs and on oxygen – to express their outrage.

I know you to be a genuine conservative, and while your electoral strategy perhaps focused on the issues you knew were of critical importance to Virginia voters, next Wednesday you are going to be speaking for the entire Republican Party and all other voters alarmed by the radical Democrat agenda. In other words, you are going to be speaking for America.

I am sure you realize that recapturing both Houses for Republicans in November 2010 is within reach now. But it will only remain so if Republicans offer a convincing alternative to the Democrats that addresses the overwhelming anxiety driving our activism, and puts our country firmly back on course to a sane, prosperous, secure, Constitutional Republic.

Thus, this cannot be a message of conciliation.

It must be a message of truth. Republican efforts at "bipartisanship" have repeatedly been met with disingenuous offers, back room dealings, slammed doors, public ridicule and blatant violation of longstanding parliamentary rules. Those with long memories know that Democrats have played this game for decades. This is the Democrat game plan: No Compromise - because what they really want is inimical to everything this country stands for.

As the chosen standard bearer for the Republican Party, you must state firmly that Republicans don't intend to compromise in a process which merely allows Democrats to continue along their destructive path, only now with bipartisan support.

You must state firmly that Republicans do not intend to assist the Democrats while they ruin the economy, bankrupt government, destroy our healthcare system, and continue pitting us one against the other in a divide-and-conquer strategy that is Balkanizing our nation.

If anything has been learned from the explosive growth of the Tea Party movement and similar organizations, it is that people everywhere, Republican, Democrat and Independent, are horrified at what Obama and the Congressional Democrats are doing. But the Democrats forge on ahead, calling Republicans who try to stop them the “Party of No.”

You need to clarify our message: we are not the Party of No. We are the Party of No Way!

No Way we’ll let you ruin our economy!
No Way we’ll let you compromise our security!
No Way we’ll let you destroy our healthcare!
No Way we’ll let you bankrupt our government!

Acknowledge that we Republicans lost our way for a while. We admit it. But the scales have fallen from our eyes. This administration and Congress's attempt to steamroll their destructive, radical agenda across this land has shaken us out of our lethargy. Our vision is crystal clear:

· Republicans are the Party of limited government and free markets.
· Republicans are the Party of liberty.
· Republicans are the Party of principle.
· Republicans are the Party of ALL the People.
· And this is because Republicans are the Party of the United States Constitution.

These are the only principles that can guarantee – to the extent anything can be guaranteed – life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And they have a 200 year track record of unmatched success in making the United States that “shining city on a hill.” It may yet remain so…

Republicans want give back to The People what is theirs by right. Democrats use divisive rhetoric, intimidation tactics, misinformation and lies to extract ever more wealth from hardworking individuals.

To those Democrats who have their own epiphany and choose to shed their despotic impulses, we say “Come along with us on the road to restoration of our Republic. We will welcome you with open arms.”

If however, they continue to insist on budget-busting, economy-wrecking, national security-threatening, divisive public policies, then they need to know we will fight them with every fiber in our being.

That is the message you need to convey. I am sure you can put it in better words than I, but make no mistake; a lot is riding on this speech and We the People will be listening.

If Republicans intend to ride the crest of the grassroots tsunami, their message to the Democrats must be unambiguous: NO WAY!

We haven't yet won. We have only made them blink. What we’ve accomplished so far will mean nothing if we don’t catch this tidal wave of enthusiasm and ride it forward to decisive victory in November.

We in the grassroots have expectations, and for once they must be met. We have suffered enormous loss from Republicans who have repeatedly let us down. For years we have invested our time, our finances and our hopes, and we are not willing to be let down again.

Please take this message to heart. Our nation, indeed, the free world, depends on it.

US Marxist Union Boss Promotes Ties to Kiwi Mega Union

What was US union boss Eliseo Medina doing in New Zealand?

The new New Zealand Service and Food Workers Union (SFWU) is the rough eqivalent of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) in the US.

Both unions represent low paid service workers, both are Marxist led, are highly political and very influential with the main left party in their respective countries-the US Democratic Party and the NZ Labour Party.

Eliseo Medina, vice president of the SEIU visited NZ in October 2009, where he worked with the SFWU and apparently met with Labour finance spokesman David Cunliffe.

Eliseo Medina was a guest speaker at the SFWU's October National Delegates Conference in Auckland.

Eliseo gave a powerful speech to the conference about the need for unions to not only operate internationally to win power over the large international companies we were facing, but to also campaign internationally around immigration, healthcare and housing issues.

Eliseo related the struggle of the SEIU in the United States to win immigration and healthcare reform as part of an overall goal of Justice for All.

On the days before and after our conference Eliseo visited Wellington and Christchurch talking to SFWU members and organisers about the SEIU and the international partnerships to organise in cleaning and security.

It is time to dump the Policy Wonks and Democratic Party wise guys.

Everyone said and now everyone knows that the SIMPLER THE BETTER. The more complicated, the more to make people worried about the details. And, that worry becomes grist for the Republican media machines.

So the first step for health reform is to Dump the Congressional Bills......both of them feed into the Republican machine for 2010 elections. Mass. showed that.

We must propose what we know people want and already like.

1. Maintain and expand the Veterans Medical and Hospitals Systems;

2 Expand the Federally Qualified Community Health Centers;

3. Drop the Medicare age to 55 to 64 ---- Republicans will not mess with that;

4. Elevate Medicaid to 150% of the Federal Poverty Level;

5. Open the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program for non federal employees to join;

6 Eliminate Pre-Existing Conditions Exclusions

By doing these actions; you are dealing with winners and known programs. Each of these programs is supported by those in them.

By dumping the Health Exchanges you eliminate the number one grist for the Republican mills, i.e., forcing people to buy insurance. And, to win working people back, voters they are; Dump the taxing of benefits.

These should be done immediately....no waiting time.

Then in a year or two we do another step.

These can and will lead to larger reforms such as a federally administered Single Payer system; and, toward our ultimate goal of a National Health Service in our country.

Obama File 95 Obama's Socialist Advisers Push Immigration Reform to "Create a Governing Coalition For the Long Term"

Why, in a time of high U.S. unemployment, is the Obama Administration seriously considering Rep. Luis Gutierrez's "Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America's Security and Prosperity" bill which would grant citizenship to up to 12 million illegal immigrants.


The answer has little to do with humanity, national security or prosperity.

It is all about power- raw socialist power. It is all about 8,000,000 more Democratic Party votes and the creation of a "governing coalition for the long term".

At the "progressive" America's Future Now! conference in Washington, DC on June 2, 2009, SEIU International Executive Vice President Eliseo Medina addressed attendees on the issue immigration reform.



Speaking of Latino voters, Medina said "when they voted in November, they voted overwhelmingly for progressive candidates. Barack Obama got two out of every three voters that showed up"

So I think there's two things that matter for the progressive community.

Number one, if we are to expand this electorate to win, the progressive community needs to solidly be on the side of immigrants, that we'll expand and solidify the progressive coalition for the future..."

When you are in the middle of a fight for your life you will remember who was there with you. And immigrants count on progressives to be able to do that.

Number two.

We reform the immigration laws, it puts 12 million people on the path to citizenship and eventually voters. Can you imagine if we have, even the same ratio, two out of three?

If we have eight million new voters who care about ...... and will be voting. We will be creating a governing coalition for the long term, not just for an election cycle.

There you have the strategy. Fight for the illegal immigrants, grant them citizenship, then exploit their gratitude in the form of votes to create a "governing coalition for the long term, not just for an election cycle.."

Who is Eliseo Medina?

As vice president of the radical SEIU, Medina has been the US's most effective immigration "reform" activist. His union, SEIU is also the major backer of the Gutierrez bill.

Selling the legalization of millions of illegal workers to the US labor movement has always been an uphill battle.

It was a huge turnaround in February 2000, when the AFL-CIO reversed its longstanding anti 'illegals' policy, calling for a new amnesty for millions of undocumented workers and the repeal of the 1986 law that criminalized hiring them.

Eliseo Medina was one of the chief instigators behind that resolution.

That fact is recognized by Democratic Socialists of America, the Marxist organization to which Medina has long belonged.

According to the DSA website;

Eliseo Medina is widely credited with playing a key role in the AFL-CIO's decision to adopt a new policy on immigration a few years ago, and was one of the organizers of the Immigrant Workers Freedom Bus Rides in 2003.

When Medina was honored by Chicago Democratic Socialists of America at their 2004 awards dinner, it was for his "vital role in the AFL-CIO's reassessment of its immigration policy".

Had Eliseo Medina not turned around the AFL-CIO and had the SEIU not supported it, Congressman Gutierrez's bill would never have gotten off the ground.

Medina's first interaction with the the fore-runners of Democratic Socialists of America came in Chicago when, in 1969, he was sent by Cesar Chavez to lead the Chicago grape boycott campaign.

Medina came into contact with Carl Marx Shier, a member of the local Socialist Party of America chapter , later to be a key founder of the Democratic Socialists of America.

Shier connected Medina with the Chicago Labor movement, a decision that "propelled Medina’s success with both the grape boycott and his career".

In 2004 Eliseo Medina became a Democratic Socialists of America honorary chair.

In 2008, Eliseo Medina joined Barack Obama's National Latino Advisory Council, where he worked with DSA linked future Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, Luis Gutierrez and the co-sponsor of Gutierrez's immigration bill, the radical New York Congresswoman, Nydia Velasquez.

Luis Gutierrez is regarded in Chicago as one of Barack Obama's biggest supporters.

Eliseo Medina and Barack Obama , both have ties to Chicago Democratic Socialists of America, so it is not suprizing that Luis Gutierrez also has "connections".

When Luis Gutierrez ran for Congress in 1998, Democratic Socialists of America did not officially endorse any candidates, as they did Barack Obama in 1996.

But he was "recommended" as worthy of a vote, because of his membership of the DSA/Institute for Policy Studies created Congressional Progressive Caucus and for his support of Progressive Challenge-also a DSA/IPS "baby".

In the mid 1990s, Luis Gutierrez served on the board of Illinois Public Action alongside DSA members Ron Baiman and Quentin Young , DSA supporters Jan Schakowsky, David Orr and Tom Balanoff, Communist Party member Frank Lumpkin and Soviet front leader Alice Palmer.

Luis Gutierrez got his start in politics as an Chicago Alderman elected as part of the Harold Washington "movement". Washington was elected mayor of Chicago in 1983 by a coalition led by Chicago DSA and the Communist Party. It was Washington's election that inspired the young Barack Obama to move to Chicago - he even unsuccessfully applied for a job in the Washington administration.

In the late 1970s, early 1980s, Luis Gutierrez was one of the leading US members of the Puerto Rican Socialist Party.

Openly Marxist-Leninist, the PSP campaigned for Puerto Rican independence from the US. The organization maintained an unofficial "embassy' in Cuba and in the US was close to several revolutionary organizations including the terrorist Weather Underground Organization.

Gutierrez was able to use his contacts in the Chicago City government to to secure government funds for the PSP sponsored cultural center and for Party sponsored social services and ESL and GELD programs.

Incidentally, one of Eliseo Medina's comrades, DSA vice chair Jose LaLuz had also been a leading member of the Puerto Rican Socialist Party.

In January 1976, Jose LaLuz, representing the PSP Central Committee attended the Weather Underground organized "Hard Times" conference, at the University of Chicago. The conference unsuccessfully attempted to unify several radical groups into a new unified communist party.

In 2008, Jose LaLuz was Chairman of Latinos for Obama-a major Democratic Party effort to swing the Latino vote behind Obama.

LaLuz explained his tactics to the Communist Party's Peoples Weekly World September 19 2008;

"The Obama campaign is working in both New Mexico and Colorado, among other states, telling Latino voters about McCain’s terrible stands on the economy and about the horrible role Republicans have played and continue to play on immigration... “We are showing how the companies and outfits that exploit Latino workers are the people behind McCain,”

Between now and Election Day LaLuz said that the Obama campaign is registering voters in New Mexico and Colorado and developing lists of tens of thousands of Latino supporters for Obama. “Those lists will constitute the people we bring out on Election Day.”

In 1999, Congressman Luis Gutierrez was one of a small group who successfully lobbied President Clinton to pardon 14 imprisoned members of the Puerto Rican terrorist group the FALN.

In September 2007, controversy erupted in Chicago when it was discovered that Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich had hired Steven Guerra as an $120,000 deputy chief of staff for community services.

It turned out that Guerra had spent nearly two years in a federal prison for refusing a federal judge's order to testify before a grand jury investigating a wave of FALN bombings that terrorized Chicago and New York City in the 1970s and 1980s. Guerra chose to be convicted of contempt even though he was offered immunity from prosecution in exchange for his testimony.

A government informant had told investigators that Guerra was a member of FALN and recounted a June 1982 trip Guerra took to Puerto Rico to attend "a meeting of a cross section of terrorists." Guerra was identified at the meeting as "one of the leaders of the resistance in the United States..."

"The discussion at the meeting included detailed plans for the ambush of police officers and the destruction of dams through the use of explosives."

Steven Guerra had originally been hired by Chicago City in 2003, on the recommendation of Luis Gutierrez.

Defending Guerra, Congressman Gutierrez praised his longtime acquaintance who "made what he considered a principled decision, and he paid a heavy price for that decision." "I have known Steven for a long time. He is a good man who cares about making our state a better place to live," said Gutierrez.

The question is-will Gutierrez and Medina's plans to "reform' immigration make the United States of America a better place?

Is that even the intention?

Or are America's illegal immigrants merely pawns in a cynical scam to give Obama's Democrats and their Marxist allies indefinite power-a governing coalition for the long term?

Obama's State of the Union Address

My fellow comrades, I come to you this evening to list my accomplishments of the past year and summarize my plans for the coming year.

First, the Nobel awards committee in Oslo, in their infinite wisdom, decided to bestow upon me the Nobel Peace Prize. I thought it was an appropriate honor and I am working hard to achieve the Marxist goal that defines Peace as the worldwide absence of opposition to communism.

I want to emphasize I have done my best to destroy capitalism and the free market system. I have increased government spending to record levels in the hopes of creating more government dependence and increasing inflation. I have increased government rules and regulations to further stifle small business, which we all know is the backbone of capitalism. I shall continue to increase taxation and regulation to the point where big businesses and large corporations will go bankrupt and be ripe for government takeover. I will coordinate this with the unions behind closed doors. I have tirelessly worked with the unions to increase their power and give them special benefits. I nationalized General Motors and I will continue to promote nationalization of core business sectors. I am actively pursing card check and hope card check legislation will pass in my second year of office. I am promoting Cap and Trade legislation that will further hamstring American business. I am also promoting union control of the TSA. I am currently trying to regulate the Banking System to the point where government control is inevitable. I want to emphasize these efforts take time to implement, so don’t expect results overnight.

I will continue to pursue all Global Warming and environmental impact policies and shall attend all conferences that promote such ideas. During this past year, I instructed the EPA to declare Carbon Dioxide a deadly gas. The Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen was a success in a lot of ways, but it did not produce the results I was hoping for. As we all know, Green is the new Red, so we must pursue all policies Green, Green jobs, Green energy and Green-Global Warming education in our schools. I am working with the Department of Education and the NEA in this regard. Indoctrination of our youth is at the core of our success. Again, be patient, the erosive effect on capitalism and our culture takes time.

I have worked hard to get Socialized Medicine implemented and passed by the time of this State of the Union address. As Lenin said, ‘Medicine is the touchstone of Socialism,’ so if our worldwide socialist agenda is going to move forward as we have envisioned, then this must pass, and soon. I am working hard with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Harry Reid to achieve this objective.

After Socialized Medicine is passed this year, I shall initially devote my efforts to granting Amnesty to all illegal aliens and provide easy access for all of their relatives to come to America. This will guarantee a further deterioration of our social welfare and medical care system that will ease the transfer to socialism for all. I will continue to adhere to the policies outlined by Cloward and Piven in these areas and will work with the Progressive and Black Caucuses to ensure their implementation. Amnesty, along with continued efforts at voter fraud, will ensure a Democratic stranglehold on America for generations to come. This will further ease our transfer of the post-American nation into the One World Socialist Republic.

I intend to pursue Gun Control on various levels this year. More staged atrocities will occur that will get the public aroused to the further need to register and then confiscate all guns. I am working with the Main Stream Media to insure our coverage of this vital area and expect key members in the House and Senate to further prepare the necessary legislation to get this passed.

I have done my best to gut our National Defense. I cancelled the F-22 program, cancelled the US Missile Defense program for Eastern Europe, cut our Missile defense, cancelled any current military Research and Development and will continue to fight pay raises for our military members. I am researching further ways to decrease their benefits. I am hoping to get out of Iraq this year, and after the token buildup in Afghanistan, hope to be out of there by next year. I am abandoning Israel and actively promoting Hamas and the Palestinians and hope a separate Palestinian State will be formed this year. I am ignoring Iran and hoping they get a nuclear weapon this year. That will further destabilize the region and produce more crises in that area which we can use to produce further change here at home. I am also hoping to pursue a Nuclear Free military by the time I leave office. This may invite an attack and hasten the struggle we long for. Again, be patient as these changes take time and always keep in mind we never let a crisis go to waste.

I shall continue to ignore our traditional allies and work feverously with our comrades in Russia and China to produce worldwide communist influence and eventual control.

I shall continue to embrace my Muslim Brothers, and will pursue open immigration from Muslim countries with guaranteed welfare benefits upon arrival. I shall institute an executive order subsidizing the building of Mosques at taxpayer expense. Any man caused disasters will continue to result in the perpetrators being immediately Mirandized and tried in civilian courts with taxpayer-funded attorneys.

I will, of course, continue to promote the health, welfare and government subsistence of my fellow Black Americans. It’s only if we continue to promote class warfare and racism will the socialist revolution come to fruition. I hope to increase affirmative action efforts and legislation and am proposing a bill to bypass job requirements for Blacks in Federal jobs.

As promoted by Alinsky, I will continue to promote the words Hope and Change on the American people until they see the light of Socialism. I shall continue to consult with member of the Communist Party USA, the Czars and my Marxist mentors as I make further plans to change America to a more Progressive Post-American country.

I am hopeful about the 2010 elections. People are already working on the ground to shore up support, infiltrate various organizations, researching and implementing voter fraud, and energizing ACORN. I intend to have Amnesty passed by then so it should be a slam-dunk. Also, keep in mind; much of the Jobs Stimulus billions was laundered to be used for ads and support for Democratic candidates this fall.

Comrades, I have accomplished a lot in one year. I shall do my best to promote our values and, as promised in my campaign, produce a fundamental change in America.

What thrills me most in watching US politics, is the quality of the candidates coming forward.

These people are not talking about "new programs", saving owls or scamming more money off the Federal Government for their own district.

They're talking about liberty, freedom, the US Constitution and the values that made America great.

They're talking about holding government to account and returning to basic principles.

They understand the threats to their beloved Republic and they are prepared to fight.

One such man is Bill Randall, who is running for the U.S. House of Representatives for the 13th District of North Carolina.

If you go back to just prior to the 2008 Presidential election, very few Americans (regardless of their political affiliation) could have envisioned the state of affairs of our country today. Mohsen al Attar is the first lecturer in Islamic Law at the University of Auckland. He specialises in Law and Development, Islamic Law, Globalisation, International Trade Law and Intellectual Property Law.


Mohsen al Attar is also a self proclaimed Marxist who sees education as a politicisizing process.

What some people might term "brainwashing".

According to al Attar , education is a "political intervention", which has "revolutionary potential".

Mohsen al Attar made these remarks in September 2009 at a public event in Auckland.

The occasion was Emory Douglas and Mohsen al Attar: Education for Emancipation, a lecture/exhibition at the Gus Fisher Gallery, 74 Shortland Street.

Exhibitor Emory Douglas was former Minister of Culture for the Marxist-Leninist/ Maoist leaning Black Panther Party in the USA.


Emory's illustrations graced the Black Panther newspaper and countless posters for more than a decade.

According to the event blurb;

Emory Douglas discusses his exhibition and experiences in the Black Panther Party with Mohsen al Attar, Faculty of Law, who will address links between education, oppression, revolution and liberation.

According to al Attar;

“Education is much more than the technical practice of learning but, in fact, a type of political intervention in which the student acquires greater understanding of the world they inhabit and the possibilities of transforming it via established and novel ways.

Emory’s work has been inspirational to many including myself precisely because of the novelty of the images and the powerful message underpinning it.

That's right Kiwi taxpayers. You are paying the salary of a man who believes that education is not just the "technical practice of learning" but is a "political intervention" with "revolutionary potential".

Obama File 94 Concert or Coincidence? Obama and the Committees of Correspondence Connections

Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism is one of the US's most significant Marxist-Leninist parties.

The organization was born in 1992 out of a major split in the Communist Party USA, incorporating Trotskyites, former Maoists, socialists and anarchists to form an entirely new party.

The party has strong ties to Cuba , Vietnam, Venezuela and the communist parties of France and the former East Germany.

Committees of Correspondence, was and is strong in Chicago. I have written here how two leading CoC members have worked closely with Barack Obama.

Committees of Correspondence leader Manning Marable wrote in British Trotskyist journal Socialist Review in December 2008;

What makes Obama different is that he has also been a community organiser. He has read left literature, including my works, and he understands what socialism is. A lot of the people working with him are, indeed, socialists with backgrounds in the Communist Party or as independent Marxists. There are a lot of people like that in Chicago who have worked with him for years...

He was almost certainly referring to his Chicago CoC comrades.

I have in my possession a Chicago Committees of Correspondence "Membership, Subscription and mailing list" dated October 14, 1994.


Of the nearly 400 names on the list, many have been identified as CoC members from other sources.

The list does not prove CoC membership per se, but it does indicate some degree of contact with the organization.

What struck me as significant were the names of several people who have promoted, or impacted on the political career of Barack Obama.

They include;

Carl Davidson Now one of four Co-leaders of the Committees of Correspondence. Davidson worked with Obama in the radical New Party in the 1990s. He later helped organize the famous 2002 peace rally in Chicago's Federal Plaza where Obama first became famous as an opponent of the Iraq War.

Danny Davis An Illinois Democratic Congressman and a member of Democratic Socialists of America with proven ties to the Communist Party and CoC.

Davis has been a long time Obama friend and political ally who campaigned with Obama in the New Party in 1995/96.

Bernardine Dohrn and Bill Ayers Former leaders of the terrorist Weather Undeground. The couple hosted Obma's first known political gathering in their home in 1995.

Bill Ayers' ties to Obama run deep;

The two men were involved in efforts to reform the city’s education system. They appeared together on academic panels, including one organized by Michelle Obama to discuss the juvenile justice system, an area of mutual concern. Mr. Ayers’s book on the subject won a rave review in The Chicago Tribune by Mr. Obama, who called it “a searing and timely account.”

Mr. Obama further expanded his list of allies by joining the boards of two well-known charities: the Woods Fund and the Joyce Foundation.

These memberships have allowed him to help direct tens of millions of dollars in grants over the years to groups that championed the environment, campaign finance reform, gun control and other causes supported by the liberal network he was cultivating. Mr. Brazier’s group, the Woodlawn Organization, received money, for instance, as did antipoverty groups with ties to organized labor like Chicago Acorn, whose endorsement Mr. Obama sought and won in his State Senate race.

Earl Durham A former member of the Communist Party national committee. Professor Durham later went into education reform in the 1970s and in the 1990s founded the organization Community Organizing and Family Issues.

Barack Obama served on the organization's sponsoring committee in 1994/95

Marilyn Katz Now a prominent Chicago public reations professional and Democratic Party activist, Katz has a background in Students for a Democratic Society and the socialist New American Movement.

Katz, with Carl Davidson helped organize Obama's appearance at the 2002 Chicago anti Iraq War rally.

Marilyn Katz has worked closely with Barack Obama since meeting him through his position at Miner, Barnhill & Galland in the 1990s.

It was through the law firm that Mr. Obama met Marilyn Katz, who gave him entry into another activist network: the foot soldiers of the white student and black power movements that helped define Chicago in the 1960s.

“For better or worse, this is Chicago,” said Ms. Katz, who has held fund-raisers for Mr. Obama at her home. “Everyone is connected to everyone.”''

Katz was a major fundraiser and a delegate at the Democratic Party convention for Obama. She was also an endorser of the Progressives for Obama website.

Fred Klonsky A former Students for a Democratic Society activist, brother of Mike Klonsky and endorser of the Progressives for Obama website.

Mike Klonsky Is a former leader of Students for a Democratic Society and the pro China Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist).

Mike Klonsky is a long time friends with Bill Ayers and was involved with some of the educational project which Ayers and Obama worked together on.

Until June 2008 Mike Klonsky ran a Blog on Barack Obama's campaign website.

It was pulled at very short notice after adverse publicity began surfacing on the blogosphere.

Alice Palmer A long time Communist Party sympathiser, Alice Palmer has travelled extensively in the old Soviet Bloc and was a leader of the soviet front International Organization of Journalists.

Obama was Alice Palmer's chief of staff when she ran for congress in the mid 1990s. She was the main sponsor of Obama's early political career until he took her old Illinois State Senate seat in 1996.

It was Alice Palmer who introduced Barack Obama to the meeting in the home of Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn.

Lou Pardo Also a member of Democratic Socialists of America. Pardo worked with Obama on voter registration in 1992. In the mid 1990s Pardo was active, with Obama in the Chicago New Party.

Dan Swinney A Chicago labor unionist and endorser of the Progressives for Obama website.


Kevin Tyson A former member of the Communist Party. Kevin Tyson has been a long time activist and co-parishioner with Obama in Rev. Jeremiah Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ.

Mildred Williamson A Chicago health professional, former Communist Party member and Committees of Correspondence leader.

An endorser of the Progressives for Obama website.

Is it significant that all these people, several of them previously unconnected, all supported Barack Obama's career?

Were they working, at least some of the time, in concert, to promote their mutual friend? Or are the Committees of Correspondence connections merely coincidental?

Simpson on Massachusetts-Take Heed Republicans

James Simpson of the examiner.com has some words of warning for the Republicans after the "Massachusetts miracle".

He is right on the money.

This election is a game changer. Make no mistake about it. Not only is the U.S. Senate in play for Republicans in November, but so is the House of Representatives, state legislatures and governor's mansions. Last night, Sarah Palin said to Greta Van Susteren on Fox News "We just witnessed a wicked political pivot... This is a tidal wave sweeping the country..." She is right.

Now, Republicans have an uncanny ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. We have seen it time and again and that is a real danger here. So let me tell you what this victory is not. It is not about getting Republicans a seat at the Democrat table. Let me repeat that.

This election is not about getting Republicans a seat at the Democrat table.

If nothing else has become clear over the past year, Republicans have to have at least realized this: Democrats don't share. Any effort to use this victory to give Republicans a better "negotiating position" on Democrat-sponsored bills will simply make it easier for Democrats to pursue their reckless agenda, only now they will have "bipartisan" support. Come November, voter contempt for Republicans will be as palpable as it is now for Democrats. Republicans will lose.

Going along to get along is out. Compromise is out. And if Republicans don't get it they will be repeating the mistakes that put them back into the minority in the first place.

The reason We The People are in open revolt is because we finally clearly recognize that the entire Democrat agenda is willfully destructive. Republicans need to get this through their heads. We are not merely dealing with a Party of "opposing views." We are dealing with an international movement that will destroy our Republic by snatching our freedoms, our wealth and our independence, with the ultimate goal of, as Barack Obama said, "fundamentally transforming" our Constitutional Republic into a socialist dictatorship.

Republicans have no excuse to be supporting or even compromising with that agenda. Their job should be prevent Democrats from imposing this nation-wrecking agenda, while convincingly articulating their reasons for doing so and offering superior alternatives.

Massachusetts was not a Republican victory. It was a victory for Scott Brown, his supporters, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, the Tea Party movement and millions of patriotic Americans.

If Scott Brown had played by the normal Republican rule book, he'd have been toast.

By standing against Obamacare and Democrat security laxness, he pulled off a stunning upset.

If the Republicans can return to their roots and humbly embrace their betters from the Tea Party movement and the patriotic re-surgence, they will win big time in the mid term elections.

If they think they are still calling the shots and refuse to learn the lessons of the last year, they will be further sidelined.

American liberty is at stake here-which ultimately means Western liberty.

As the late great Republican Barry Goldwater once said "Extremism in the case of liberty is no vice"

Now is not the time for compromise.

Now is the time to go for the jugular.

Written before the vote-former Bill Clinton adviser Dick Morris spells out what a Scott Brown victory will mean for US politics;

Beyond a pleasing sight for the heart, what would Ted Kennedy’s seat going Republican really mean?

A lot.

First, there would be the psychological effect. On Democratic donors — it would discourage them from opening their checkbooks. On Republican donors — the impact would be electric in kindling their interest and generosity. On Democratic incumbents seeking re-election — it would make the beaches and golf courses that await them in their Florida retirement homes (and the lucrative lobbying jobs in Washington) infinitely more attractive. On Republicans considering running for the House and the Senate — it will help them see the truth: That their time is at hand! (It might even help our esteemed Party Chairman Michael Steele, realize that we can capture both houses this year!)

But in the Senate itself, it would really signal the end of Obama’s legislative dominance. He’ll probably be able to pass health care either by Democratic dithering in certifying Brown’s election or by ramming through the bill while he’s en route to Washington on the shuttle.


But, beyond that, the prospects of getting 60 votes on the remaining items in Obama’s legislative agenda: cap and trade, union card check, and immigration reform would slip away with the Massachusetts result.


A victory for Scott Brown would represent the Gettysburg of the Obama Administration - its high water mark, its tipping point.

But even more corrosive for Obama and the Democrats is the knowledge that nobody is safe from Republican assault. If the GOP can win a Senate seat in the People’s Republic of Massachusetts, it can win anywhere, anytime, against anyone. Long term Democratic incumbents from largely Republican districts would have to rethink their loyalty to Reid and Pelosi. Particularly in the House, it will be ever more difficult to round up majorities for Administration bills. Politicians will start running for cover and hiding in the cloakrooms.

Democrats will try to spin their defeat by blaming their candidate, Martha Coakley, for not campaigning hard enough. They will say that they lost because their base did not turn out and that the solution is to pass ever more radical legislation in the hopes of rekindling their fervor. But losing Massachusetts, on top of Virginia and New Jersey, will convince even the most loyal Democrat that the handwriting is, indeed, on the wall.

Couldn't happen to a nicer party.

"Three Strikes" to Become Law

Congratulations to Rodney Hide and David Garrett. This has been a long time coming.

ACT Justice spokesman David Garrett gave his all to get this through and deserves full credit.

ACT Leader Rodney Hide was today pleased to announce that ACT's 'Three Strikes' policy is to be incorporated into the Government's Sentencing and Parole Reform Bill for passing into law.

"'Three Strikes and the Max' sends the clear message that repeat violent offending won't be tolerated. It is about making our homes, our businesses, and our communities safe once more," Mr Hide said.

"The strike offences are listed. As a general rule the list comprises all the major violent and sexual offences that have a maximum penalty of seven years or more.

"An offender's first conviction counts as Strike One. They will serve the sentence the judge sets and be eligible for parole. A conviction for a second strike offence will count as Strike Two. They will serve the full judge-given sentence - no parole. Subsequent offending will count as Strike Three - these offenders will serve the maximum sentence for their crime with no parole. The judge sentencing a Strike Three offender will have no option but to sentence the offender to the 'max' unless it would be 'manifestly unjust' to do so.

"'Three Strikes' deliberately escalates the punishment for repeat violent offenders. Most offenders won't want to risk a second strike. Repeat offenders will be locked up without parole and for maximum sentences. The result will be a safer New Zealand.

"Three Strikes has long been core ACT policy. We campaigned hard on it in Election 08 with ACT's Justice Spokesman David Garrett leading the charge," Mr Hide said.

"'Three Strikes' received huge support from a public sick of repeat violent offending and is well overdue," ACT Justice Spokesman David Garrett said.

"National Ministers and the Prime Minister worked hard with me and the ACT team to get the best result for New Zealand. It's a proud day for ACT. It's a great day for law-abiding Kiwis. We finally have a Government cracking down on violent offending," Mr Hide said.

There wasn't one iota of comment about this story on TV3 news tonight.

Coakley Concedes!!! Sad One Dems-A Great Day for the West

With over 75% of the vote counted, Democrat Martha Coakley has reportedly conceded the Massachusetts Senate race to Republican Scott Brown.

At around 53 to 47% vote split, pundits are calling it a landslide.

This means that Obama loses his filibuster proof majority in the Senate, giving the Republicans the chance to slow Obama's socialist agenda to a near standstill-maybe even kill Obamacare.

This vote is a credit to Scott Brown, the Tea Party movement and the thousands of American patriots who poured time and money into the campaign.

Congratulations and a heartfelt thanks from New Zealand.

The whole Western world benefits from this great victory.

Massachusetts was the strongest Democrat state in the nation! This was Ted Kennedy's seat for God's sake!

Scott Brown's supporters have reportedly been chanting "Kerry's next! Kerry's next!"

Mohsen al Attar-Why Are Our Taxes Paying This Radical?

Why are New Zealand taxpayers paying the salary of a self proclaimed Muslim-Marxist radical academic?

Mohsen al Attar is the first lecturer in Islamic Law at the University of Auckland. He specialises in Law and Development, Islamic Law, Globalisation, International Trade Law and Intellectual Property Law

In 2008 Attar completed his PhD which was an examination of the relationship between Transnational Law and "class struggle". In the PhD he focused in particular on laws created by institutions and non-state entities. "How do these new laws impact people? Peasants? Farmers? Workers? Does it improve their lifestyles or harm them? Does it promote greater equity or continue to polarise the world between spas and slums?

Mr Attar is appreciative of his freedom to develop and teach courses of his choosing. He has stated, "Not many law faculties are as supportive as Auckland in allowing me to teach the courses I want to teach."

Attar is a fan of the teachings of Brazillian Marxist educational theorist Paulo Freire. He states that his outlook on teaching, education and liberation can be best summed up with a quote from Freire,

"Liberating education consists in acts of cognition, not transferals of information."

He has stated that he is "captivated" by the writings of Antonio Gramsci, a highly influential Marxist who was at one time, leader of the Communist Party of Italy.

Gramsci advocated moving to communism through infiltration of religion, the media, academia and social institutions, rather than through worker/peasant insurrection.

Attar is also a huge fan of Malcolm X who was a leader and the public face of the militantly anti-Jewish group, Nation of Islam before moving on to black nationalism and Marxism.

In a 2008 interview, Attar stated that Malcolm X was his personal hero, "one of the foremost intellectuals of the 20th century".

Stating that he was not overly concerned with labels, Attar also commented,
:''"There will likely always be spas and slums but there’s no reason why we can’t tone down the spas a little and upgrade the slums. If this makes me a Marxist, anarchist, lefty, Muslim, wolf, goat, sheep, or elk then so be it."''

Attar is also an admirer of the late Edward Said, a Marxist academic who once served on the ruling body of the terrorist Palestinian Liberation Organization.

Attar is a Canadian of Egyptian extraction, who did much of his academic training in the UK, Sweden and the United States-but he has a vision for New Zealand.

In a March 12 2008 interview, Attar stated, "Cultural homogeneity is a thing of the past. Diversity is the key to the future." In an article published in the NZ Herald on March 5, 2008 he also stated, "Within New Zealand, a new Muslim community is emerging. This community is strong; this community is vibrant; this community is diverse; and this community is committed to forging a new ‘We’ in New Zealand.".
