Iran Sends Message to US

From Islamic Republic News Agency

Missile units of the air and naval forces of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) will begin a specialized wargame in southern and central parts of Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman from Wednesday.

The IRGC Public Relations Department announced Tuesday that IRGC airforce will launch Sa'eqeh while its navy force will conduct the Raad military exercises in the regions on Wednesday, making use of the successes of Great Prophet I and II military maneuvers.

According to the report, the IRGC will carry out the two-day exercise to raise its combat preparedness.

Missile interception and test-fire will be included in the wargame.

About time Act took a principled position in favour of the liberation of Iran and demanded the govt offer the US NZ assistance.

You'll be the first to volunteer anon?

Faster than the yellow-belied pseudo-freedom party Act, which talked a good game about NZ joining the liberation of Iraq but failed to make it a campaign issue in 2005. Hypocrites. Are you for freeing Iran or not?

Are you for real?

No way do I support war against Iran. Especially by NZ.

If you're so keen, go and take out Ahmadinejad yourself.

Trev once again takes over the position of the anti-war left he pretends to criticise.

Anonymous, do you really care that Iran just hosted a holocaust denial conference last year?

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yes. I think we should have pounded them for that. Don't you? Why aren't you pressing Act to take a pro-liberation position. Act campiagned for the liberation of Iraq in 2003 but have gone cold now. They should be stepping up making the argument for Kiwi troops to support the US, not cowering with the anti-war left like Trev.

So now you're saying that Trev is siding with the "anti-war" left even though he has exposed many of their front groups are linked to Communist parties?

Whatever. He sides with them in action, by opposing new troops to help secure Iraq and to join the liberation of Iran. Act's cowardice speaks for istelf.

Feels a bit odd-getting attacked from the right.

Anon-while many in ACT, including Rodney supported the invasion of Iraq, I did not share that view.

While I am certainly no pacifist, I do not believe in wars of aggression, or even of "liberation".

Governments have no business "liberating" other nations unless as a bye-product of a defensive war, or where a formal alliance is in place.

The US was right to go into Afghanistan to nail Al Qaeda.

In my opinion they should have gone in there and focussed on getting Bin Laden, then buggered off out again.

In short, I believe in defensive or pre-emptive wars only.

Having said that, I understand that the US is probably in possession of a lot of intelligence data that the public has no knowledge of.

Maybe if I knew more, I would be more favourable to the Iraqi effort.

I attack the peace movement because they are liars and hypocrites. They don't want peace-they want the enemy to win.

However I do believe that private volunteers should be able to fight for the causes they support.

Convert to Judaism and join the Israeli Army, if you wish. I think they'll be fighting Iran soon enough.

I prefer to fight with the pen. If you don't approve, get into an Israeli uniform and show me what a real hero looks like.

You're wrong, Trev - it was official Act policy to have NZ join the liberation of Iraq. Why didn't you back your leader in 2003? He called again and again for NZ troops to be sent to Iraq.

Your position of hands off realpolitik mirrors exactly that of the anti-war left, which would have left Iraq in the hands of socialism. Your anti-communism is toothless if it's not backed it up with armed force. Why don't you go the whole hog and join Sam Buchanan in the Green Party?

So Anon, you were against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?

I would of thought you would be commending ANY political party that supported the rights of individuals to not be ruled by blood thirsty dictators?

Anon-several points.

I did not become active in ACT until very late 2003.

ACT is a very liberal Party. Divergent views are not just tolerated, they are encouraged.

Here's a prediction-even if the US does defeat the insurgency in Iraq-which I hope they do-Iraq will still be a socialist country (have you seen the US imposed constitution?). It will also be aligned to Iran, Russia and China.

That is Realpolitik.

I've always believed that those who wish to send troops to fight in foreign wars should be the first to volunrteer.

Let us see you lead by example anon.

There are plenty of mercenaries in Iraq.

Why not join them?

Or is your stance really just bluster?

Funny how all the so-called rightists become chicken when the call is made for boots on the ground. You're just leftist anti-war types under the veneer, aren't you? I'm too old to fight anymore, but if Act had any guts it'd stop backing away from its support for Kiwi troops to take part in the 2003 invasion. It's like you're now ashamed of your old stance!

You know what anonymous, I support an invasion of Iran to prevent the Iranian President from initiating a nuclear holocaust against Israel and to prevent/reduce the risk of nuclear terrorism. So take that in your pipe and smoke it.

So don't you come around and attacking/ridiculing someone like me as being part of the "anti-war" left or even someone like Trevor who has the right to disagree with it, but is exposing Communist parties controlling "peace" movement front groups.

11:42 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

So you're effectively ina bloc with the anti-war movement, via Trevor: how mausing! Another reason why Act has been such a disaster. What a craven bunch of apologists you are.

You're a bit slow on the uptake anon.

I suppo wars in some circumstances but not in others.

Its a bit ironic that you accuse me of cowardice, but you post anonymously.

Scared of putting your name to your opinions anon?

Given your support for the communist nanny state Trevor (see the posts on adoption), why would anyone want to post their real name here?

Anonymous, please stop accusing trev of being a Commie. You're making the far left views on McCarthy look legit.

Someone who wanted to show the world how proud they are of their beliefs.

Clearly that ain't you, Unknown Warrior.

Hope that's not a threat Trevor. As far as being a commie goes, no I wouldn't call you that - you're a centrist and a fellow traveller though. Your own party now says it might go into government with Labour, which is by your own admission communist!

Never said Labour was communist Chuck. Most of its leadership is though. That may change in the future and we may get some real reformers coming thru that we could work with.
