Green Party File 9 Anarchist Metiria Turei Wins Green's Co-Leadership

Green party file 8 here

Metiria Turei has defeated Sue Bradford for the female co-leadership of the Green Party.

The result was widely predicted as many Greens saw Bradford as tainted by her anti-smacking bill and as too far left.

Bradford is a former meber of the Worker's Communist League and continues to run a marxist training school, the Kotare Research & Education Trust from her property near Wellsford.

The Green's male co-leader Russel Norman is also far to the left-a former member of the marxist-leninist Australian Democratic Socialist Party, so most Greens were probably unwilling to push public acceptability too far.

However, while Metiria Turei's image is not as tarnished as Sue Bradford's, she is still a serious radical in her own right.

While Bradford and Norman represent the Green's dominant socialist wing, Turei comes from the party's militant anarchist wing.

Metiria Turei came to activism in the early 1990s, a time of comparatively high unemployment and slow economic growth. After dropping out of Teachers Training College, Turei became active with the Palmerston North Unemployed Rights Centre-part of a nationwide network of similar organizations Te Roopu Rawakore o Aotearoa.

Virtually all of Te Roopu’s constituent organizations were founded by members of either the pro-Chinese Workers Communist League, the pro-Soviet Socialist Unity Party or the pro-Albanian Communist Party of New Zealand.

By the early 1990s, most of these organizations were on the decline and radical anarchists became more prominent. Nandor Tanczos was involved in Hamilton’s Te Roopu affiliated Beneficiaries Unemployed movement (BUM), while Christchurch anarchist Gaye Dyson headed the national organization in 1994. Dyson later when on to join the Green Party and served as Metiria Turei’s Parliamentary executive assistant, almost up to her death in 2004.

In May 1990 Turei led Unemployed Workers' Centre protests outside local Labour and National Party rooms in Palmerston North over benefit cuts by placing piles of bones on office doorsteps. Other protests involved regularly including occupying Business Roundtable offices in Wellington and in Auckland, camping in merchant banker Michael Fay’s yard and swimming in his pool. In 1992 Meteria Turei became National Co-ordinator of Te Roopu Rawakore.

The anarchism of the time is little understood. Most think of it as a punk movement involving little more than Mohawk haircuts, safety pins and spray painted anarchy symbols.

In reality it was a radical leftist political movement, akin to communism, but contemptuous of socialist bureaucracy and hierarchy. Anarchists considered themselves “real” revolutionaries.

Nandor Tanczos described what anarchism meant to him in a 17th July 1989 article in Waikato University student newspaper Nexus entitled "Anarchism and the Real World"

The anarchism I agree with most is anarcho-syndicalism ("syndicalism" meaning revolutionary unionism)....

Anarcho syndicalism, to me, is organised anarchism, libertarian socialism.

Rather than sit back and wait for "The revolution"...anarcho-syndicalism was born when anarchists got their hands dirty in the day-to-day class war-as agitators, educators and organisors.

Real change will never occur on the say-so of smiling judges, top-cops or multinational murderers. A free society will only be built on the ruins of class rule and the laws that protect it....

Anarchism is seen in practice as the most militant and practical section of the working class movement.

Anarchism is not a game. It's a movement based on class struggle, against class society, for the liberation of all humanity...

By 1992 Metiria Turei was at Auckland University doing papers in Anthropology and Maori Studies, before moving on to Law.

In the 1993 general election, Turei stood for the McGillycuddy Serious Party in the New Lynn electorate. She stood for the McGillicuddy’s again in 1999, after standing at number 4 on the Aoteoroa Legalise Cannabis Party list in 1996.

While usually viewed as a joke party, the MgGillicuddy’s had a serious side, being run almost entirely by anarchists-though not too anti state to refuse government advertising funding when offered.

Several prominent McGillicuddys went on join the Green Party including Nandor Tanczos’s Hamilton office manager Barry Bryant and party media laiason officer Mark Servian. Others including Ross Gardiner and Sam Buchanan went on to become leaders of the Wellington anarchist community.

Metiria Turei went on to marry another former McGillicuddy- Worik Stanton.

By 2001 Turei too was an ex McGillicuddy, standing as Green Party candidate for the Auckland mayoralty. By now she was a qualified lawyer and co-president of Te Hunga Roia Maori o Aoteoroa, the maori lawyers society. At the 2002 Green Party conference Turei put a remit forward calling for the Greens to endorse the ”maori” version of the Treaty Of Waitangi.

In 2002 Metiria Turei entered Parliament on the Green Party list.

She hadn’t become entirely respectable though-becoming a member of the Random Trollops, an anarcho-feminist performance troop and a regular at Auckland’s annual gay “Hero Parade”.

Turei told a Dunedin girls high school prizegiving audience;

I went to University cos I was 21 and didnt have to have UE. I found Anarchists and McGillicuddies and Tino Rangatiratanga and a group of women performers called the Random Trollops. And then I had my baby and realised that I would spend the rest of my life on the DPB if I didn't get a job. So I applied for law school and got in via a bridging course. And then relying heavily on the generosity and commitment of my friends and family I graduated.

Most recent profiles, if they mention it at all. gloss over Turei’s anarchism as a past aberration, but there is little evidence that she has actually renounced her extremist views.

In July 2008 Turei appeared on a Radio NZ programme series on anarchism in New Zealand. Radio NZ advertised the shows on their website;

Hear from long-time anarchist activist Sam Buchanan from 128 in Wellington, Libertarian Socialist historian and author of Rabble Rousers and Merry Pranksters – A History of Anarchism in Aotearoa, Toby Boraman, Manu Caddie, organiser of an Anarchist Christian training camp in the Kaimas and hear from Metiria Turei Green MP, one of New Zealand's two anarchist ministers of parliament whose describes her self-chosen role as an anarchist to “widen the floor of the cage” (rather than a civil war)...

Presumably the other anarchist “minister” was fellow Green MP Nandor Tanczos.

In July 2007 an Australian Aboriginal Rights campaign partially run by a former Hamilton anarchist and Green Party Parliamentary staffer Rayna Fahey sought international support for “Kulin” land claims.

Australian signatories of “Stop the Genocide on Stolen Aboriginal Land Kulin Nations July 14th Full Endorsement List included;

Freedom Socialist Party, Indigenous Social Justice Association – Melbourne,
Ongoing G20 Arrestees Solidarity Network, Radical Women, Resistance (youth wing of Russel Norman’s former Marxist party), Socialist Alliance, Socialist Alternative, International Socialist Organisation, Socialist Party, Communist Party of Australia, Maritime Union of Australia (communist controlled), Indigenous Social Justice Association — Sydney, Anarchist Media Institute.

Local endorsers included;

Te Ata Tino Toa, Conscious Collaborations, Solidarity Union (Marxist controlled), Socialist Worker (Aotearoa), Wellington Wildcat Anarchist Collective, Aocafe Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand, Radical Youth (Auckland), Citizens Against Privatisation (Auckland) Hone Harawira, Maori Party MP Te Tai, Tokerau and Metiria Turei List MP Green Party Aotearoa/NZ

Rayna Fahey was later a strong supporter of the “Urewera 17”- the alliance of pakeha anarchists and maori radicals arrested in October 2007 for allegedly participating in “quasi-military” training camps in the Bay of Plenty back blocks..

Te Ata Tino Toa, Concious Collaborations, Wildcat and Socialist Worker all came out strongly in support of the jailed “terrorists.” The Aocafe website was temporarily closed down after police alleged it was used by those arrested to network and arrange meetings.

Hone Harawira from the Maori Party and Keith Locke and Nandor Tanczos from the Greens were very vocal in defence of the arrested activists, as was Metiria Turei.

Turei’s connection to the Urewera 17 came through her close ties to radical environmental group Save Happy Valley Coalition (SHVC).

Since its formation in 2004, the SHVC has cost power company Solid Energy many millions of dollars of by disrupting their coal mining activities in the West Coast's Happy Valley.

According to the SHVC website;

The Save Happy Valley Coalition came together at a campout at Happy Valley in early April, 2004. A group of people from around the country travelled to Westport and made the three hour hike to Happy Valley to camp for a week in protest against the proposed mine.

Working alongside other organisations like Buller Conservation Group, Te Runanga o Ngati Waewae, Forest & Bird, Greenpeace and the Green Party the Save Happy Valley Coalition aims to build awareness about the proposed coal mine at Happy Valley and the environmental issues surrounding coal mining, and to actively oppose the mine and coal-fuelled energy generation.

Green Party members have worked SHVC from both inside and outside the organisation since day one.

Metiria Turei has played a leading role in supporting the campaign.

According to a 27th January 2006 press release;

Protestors who plan to indefinitely occupy a precious natural South Island valley in a bid to stop it being turned into an open cast coal mine have the full support of the Green Party. Conservation Spokesperson Metiria Turei says the Party hopes that lots of people will get behind the Save Happy Valley Coalition when they move onto the site tomorrow.

“It is scandalous that in this day and age we are still allowing companies to proceed with environmentally devastating open cast mining – especially when the company, Solid Energy, is a State Owned Enterprise….

“We applaud the Coalition for their courage to take this action and wish them all the best in their endeavours,” Mrs Turei says.

Turei joined the occupation at Happy Valley for four days over Easter 2006 and tramped into the valley with Greens co-leader Russel Norman in early 2007.
SHVC is essentially an alliance of Greens and anarchists. Wellington SHVC headquarters is the 128 Abel Smith Street, famously raided by police during the October 2007 “anti-terror” busts. 128 is also the home of the Wildcat Anarchist Collective, and the anarchist website, Indymedia.

At least four members of the "Urewera 17" have links with both 128 Abel Smith Street and the Save Happy Valley campaign.

The four include include Emily Bailey and her younger brother Tim/Ira Bailey, who was SHVC's campaign's spokesman for much of 2006 and Indymedia editorial collective member Omar Hamed.

Another member of Indymedia editorial collective, well known anarchist Asher Goldman is also a leading SHVC activist and "Urewera 17" support campaigner.

When the "anti terror" raids occurred on October 15th, police also tried to search two Christchurch houses including one occupied by SHVC spokeswoman Frances Mountier, but were denied entry because they had no warrant.

The police claimed they were looking for a "person of interest"-believed to be Mountier’s flatmate and fellow SHVC activist Kristin Gillies.

On February 14th 2006 SHVC was welcomed to Parliament by Green Party Conservation Spokesperson Metiria Turei, Nandor Tanczos and co-leader Jeannette Fitzsimons

The Save Happy Valley Coalition was at Parliament, complete with Great Spotted Kiwi, to talk with MPs about the destruction of the kiwi habitat in Happy Valley. State-owned Solid Energy plans to create a vast open cast coal mine in Waimangaroa Valley, one of the few stable habitats of the endangered Great Spotted Kiwi...

Turei was photographed holding an SHVC banner, with anarchist Val Morse (on left)-also later arrested in the October 2007 raids.

Turei has used her parliamentary position to help SHVC in other ways.

Maureen Howard, Dunedin Outreach Coordinator for Green MP Metiria Turei has been listed as Dunedin contact for SHVC.

SHVC’s illegal occupation of Happy Valley and associated disruptive protests has cost state owned Solid Energy many millions of dollars.

To counter this Solid Energy has called in police and hired a private security company Thompson & Clark.

Metiria Turei has used her Parliamentary position to ask questions on police operational matters and Thompson & Clark, presumably for the benefit of SHVC.

11321 (2005). Metiria Turei to the Minister of Police
How many police officers were in attendance in the vicinity of Denniston, near Westport, to collect the names and addresses of Save Happy Valley supporters and others returning from the upper Waimangaroa Valley on Sunday 20 November?

11322 (2005). Metiria Turei to the Minister of Police

How many police officers in attendance in the vicinity of Denniston, near Westport, to collect the names and addresses of Save Happy Valley supporters and others returning from the upper Waimangaroa Valley on Sunday 20 November came from stations outside of Westport and from which stations did they come?

3670 (2006). Metiria Turei to the Minister for State Owned Enterprises

Does he have a copy, or has he ever had or seen a copy, of any Thompson and Clark reports?

Metiria Turei used her Parliamentary position to help her anarchist, lawbreaking friends.

Isd such a person fit to lead a party that may one day hold influential Cabinet positions, or the balance of power in a future Parliament?

Pelosi Dossier 1 Nancy Pelosi and the Radical Hallinan Clan

US Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi has represented the San Francisco area in Congress since 1987 and has lived there since 1969.

Pelosi has made lot of radical friends in the Bay Area, including the late Vivian Hallinan.

When Vivian Hallinan died in March 1999, Nancy Pelosi placed a tribute in the Congressional Record.

I am very saddened to know that the leader of one of San Francisco's great Irish families, Vivian Hallinan, passed away last night.

Vivian and her family have deep roots in San Francisco and she has contributed immensely to the fiber of our community during her 88-year lifetime. Throughout her life, Vivian was devoted intellecutally and passionately to many causes, well before they became popularly embraced. Her opposition to the war in Vietnam was an example of the courage she displayed in taking an early and fearless stand for her conscience and convictions.

Vivian was a pioneer, a mentor and a leader...

In an article from the San Francisco Examiner also placed in the Congressional Pecord Pelosi described Vivian Hallinan as "a role model for many of us..."

Conn Hallinan, one of Vivian Hallinan's six sons has said "My mother and Nancy were pretty close...".

But who was the Vivian Hallinan that Nancy Pelosi so admired?

According to the San Francisco Examiner article;

Vivian Hallinan, the preeminent peace activist, wife of the later legend Vincent Hallinan and matriach of San Francisco.s, best known Irish political family, whose members include prominent criminal defense lawyer Patrick Hallinan and San Francisco District Attorney Terence Hallinan, has died...

Over a five-decade span, Mrs. Hallinan played a prominent part in San Francisco's progressive politics with grace, beauty and courage. In 1986, when she was 77, she was tear-gassed in Chile while protesting human rights abuses.

Although Vincent Hallinan, an atheist who once sued the Catholic Church to prove the existence of God, was publicly perceived as the more radical of the pair, Vivian Hallinan fueled the family's political fire, two of her sons said.

`She was really the heart and soul of our family's political philosophy,' said Patrick Hallinan, her eldest son. `My father resented the abuse of political authority, but my mother had a focus. She was a very committeed radical socialist.'

Indeed Vivian was a committed socialist and while maintaining friendships with open Communist Party members like Doris Brin Walker, chose to pursue her radical goals through the Democratic Party.

Although Mrs. Hallinan held `socialist' views--ideas that people should be guaranteed a decent living, that there should be racial equality and an end to war--she never joined any socialist or communist party and was a life-long Democrat, said Patrick Hallinan.

Husband Vincent was a prominent lawyer, also close the Communist Party.

In 1950, Mr. Hallinan was sentenced to six months in McNeil Island prison for a contempt citation he got while successfully defending union leader Harry Bridges against charges of being a communist.

Harry Bridges was later revealed as a secret member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party USA. Coincidentally Bridges was instrumental in the move from Chicago to Hawaii in 1948, of Communist Party member Frank Marshall Davis-later a mentor to teenage Barack Obama. Bridges also hired and mentored a young Latino Communist Party member named Burt Corona-a mentor to to a young radical named Tony Vilar (Antonio Vilaraigosa), now Mayor of Los Angeles and a former member of President Obama's Economic Transition Team.

In 1952, after Mrs. Hallinan persuaded her husband to campaign for president on Henry Wallace's Progressive Party ticket, the couple were indicted for tax evasion. She was acquitted, but he was sentenced to two years in jail.

The Progessive Party was almost completely controlled by the Communist Party.

In 1964, she and sons Patrick and Matthew were arrested while sitting-in at San Francisco's `auto row,' the car dealers that then lined Van Ness Avenue, protesting their failure to hire African Americans. She served 30 days in county jail.

She helped organize anti-Vietnam war demonstrations, leading a march of 5,000 women in Washington, D.C.

In the 1980s, she opposed U.S. policy in Central America and befriended Daniel Ortega, Nicaragua's Sandinista leader. She also met with Fidel Castro.

Vivian Hallinan headed the San Francisco chapter of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom-itself heavily pentrated by the Communist Party. "Peace was always her biggest issue" according to Terence Hallinan.

In 1967 Hallinan joined with Women Strike for Peace (WSP)to set up an umbrella peace organisation the Jeanette Rankin Brigade.

WSP was formed in 1961 by New York attorney and later Democratic Congresswoman Bella Abzug-a long time communist front activist and suspected secret party member.

Bella Abzug, foreground leading WSP march c1961

WSP leaders were almost exclusively Communist Party members-Pauline Rosen (Chicago), Blanche Posner, Ruth Meyers, Rose Clinton, Iris Freed, Elsie Neidenberg (New York), Barbara Bick (San Francisco/Washington DC), or the daughters of party members such as Amy Swerdlow and Cora Weiss (both New York).

Some like Barbara Bick and Cora Weiss became heavily involved with the Washington DC based Institute for Policy Studies (IPS)-notorious for its links to Soviet and Cuban intelligence agents.

Several of Vivian Hallinan's six sons went on to involvement with the Communist Party and one to the IPS.

Like their parents, the sons were almost all rebels and were all given macho nicknames by their boxing mad Dad-Butch, Kayo, Toughy, Dynamite, Ringo and Dangerous.

Patrick Hallinan, latterly a prominent defense lawyer was in the early 1960 active in the WEB DuBois Clubs of America (DCA)-the youth wing of the Communist Party USA. In 1961 Patrick served on the US steering committee for the Soviet front World Federation of Democratic Youth's festival in Helsinki, Finland.

Terence (Kayo) Hallinan is a lawyer and former San Francisco District Attorney.

After high school Terence worked in Hawaii as a laborer and clerk for Harry Bridges' International Longshore Workers Union (ILWU) for a year. After law school Terence was one of the founders of San Francisco's W.E.B. DuBois Club.

Terence Hallinan was also an early propagandist against the Vietnam War.

According to a 1967 FBI report

Typical of such material was an article by Terence Hallinan, then organizational secretary of the DCA, which appeared in the January, 1966, issue of "Dimensions," DCA theoretical quarterly journal.

Hallinan labeled the Vietnam conflict an "aggressive," "imperialistic," and "unjust" war which cannot be won by the United States. He stated that peace will come to Vietnam only as a result of a combination of the efforts made by the National Liberation Front on the battlefields, the pressure which can be brought to bear on our country internationally, and the opposition to the war which can be mobilized here in the United States. He urged DCA members to "help increase and organize the already widespread discontent with the war that exists in this country."

In 1970, in sworn Congressional testimony, Terence Hallinan was accused of attending a Comunist Party cadre training school at Camp Webatuck, New York.

Mathew (Dynamite) Hallinan returned to San Francisco in the early 90s, leaving his post as Communist Party education director to manage his mother's real estate business.

Mathew had spent more than 20 years in the Communist Party and it's youth wings, the Young Workers Liberation League and the DCA.

According to the FBI report cited above;

While the DCA has joined other groups in several national anti-Vietnam activities, the DCA itself initiated a national youth conference which was held on August 27 and 28, 1966, in Washington, D.C. The conference, with the theme of "jobs, peace, and freedom," was called following a resolution passed at the DCA's second National Convention in June, 1966. Along with the DCA, the sponsors included the Students for a Democratic Society; the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee; the National Coordinating Committee to End the War in Vietnam; and the International Longshoremen's and Warehousemen's Union, which was expelled from the Congress of Industrial Organizations in 1950 as a communist-dominated Union.

Workshops were conducted by DCA leaders and members with CPUSA affiliations including Hugh Fowler, DCA executive secretary; Matthew Hallinan; Charles Harris, Blaine Wishart; and Bettina Aptheker. Two high-level CPUSA functionaries at the conference were George Meyers, chairman of the CPUSA Maryland-District of Columbia District, and Michael Zagarell, CPUSA national youth director.

Today Mathew Hallinan works for socialism through the Democratic Party in the Wellstone Democratic Renewal Club. Hallinan claims the club "registered 2/3rds of all new Democratic voters in Alameda County" and played a major role in electing leftist Democratic Congressman Jerry McNerney.

Conn (Ringo)Hallinan, now retired ran the journalism program at the University of California/Santa Cruz.

Hallinan was long time member of the Communist Party and edited the party paper Peoples World.

In 1991 Conn Hallinan joined several hundred party members who split to form a new Marxist-Leninist organisation, Committees of Correspondence (CoC). Another early secret CoC member from the same area was a Democratic California State Senator with communist connections named Barbara Lee.

After her CoC membership was exposed Lee became a Democratic Congresswoman and leader of the leftist progressive congressional caucus with her long time friend Nancy Pelosi.

Conn Hallinan is also an editor for Foreign Policy in Focus,a "project of the Institute for Policy Studies"-the old socialist think tank from the 60s which is enjoying a new lease of life under the Obama administration.

As a senior elected member of the US Congress, Nancy Pelosi has to undergo no security vetting to do her job.

If she was applying for a far more junior salaried position in the US government, she would likely need a security clearance.

Her friends, associations and views would be scrutinised, to the Nth degree.

Would Pelosi's association with Hallinan clan raise any security questions?

What do you think?

The Pelosi Dossier

As Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi is America's third ranked politician after President Barack Obama and VP Joe Biden. Given Biden's low profile and gaffe prone manner, Pelosi's power, in reality, is probably second only to Obama's.

Nancy Pelosi is only a plane crash and a decent heart attack away from the most powerful job in the world.

San Francisco based Pelosi is not only one of the richest members of the US Congress-she is also one of the reddest.

Joshua Muravchik has exposed Pelosi's admiration for the late covert communist labor boss Harry Bridges.

Cliff Kincaid of Accuracy in Media has revealed Pelosi's ties to the pro-communist Hallinan family.

Kincaid also points out a major flaw in the US political system.

Like the president, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi does not have to go through a background investigation in order to get a security clearance. This loophole in the law enables the president and members of Congress to automatically qualify for security clearances, even if they have controversial backgrounds and associations, by virtue of the fact that they get elected to high office in Washington, D.C.

I'm about to start a Pelosi security file series to run in parallel to my widely cited Obama File series.

There are many overlaps. Pelosi is connected to some of the people and organisations that put Obama in the White House. Her job is to run Congress in the way most beneficial to Obama and the socialists who back him.

Check out the Pelosi Dossier.

US a "Center-Left Nation"?- So Say Socialists

From the Communist Party USA's People's Weekly World

WASHINGTON — Progressive leaders today released a new report showing that, on most issues, across the nation moderates line up with liberals, not conservatives.

Rock the Vote executive director Heather Smith and Women’ Voices, Women’s Votes president Page Gardner joined Campaign for America’s Future co-director Robert Borosage and Media Matters for America president Eric Burns at a news conference here to discuss the report produced by Media Matters.

They are among the organizers of next week’s “America’s Future Now” conference, the annual progressive gathering formerly called the “Take Back America” conference.

The report should energize the conference, which is expected to attract 3,000 leaders and activists to the Omni Shoreham Hotel here June 1-3.

The report shows, the leaders said, that around the country conservatives are isolated, majorities of Americans now hold progressive positions on a broad range of issues, and key constituencies that favor progressive positions are growing larger.

“From the moment Obama won the election the mainstream media was busy trying to convince people that this was still a center-right country,” Burns told reporters. Commentators on both NBC and CNN were warning on Election Night that it would be a mistake to interpret the Obama election as a shift in a more progressive direction, he noted. Since the election, he said, the major media have remained to the right of the American people.

It is a mistake to classify people exactly the way they “self-identify,” Burns said. People who support national health care and tougher regulations on big business may still call themselves “conservative” or “moderate,” but they are actually supporting progressive positions, he said. “They are rejecting the old conservative line that the enemy is big government and they are accepting the progressive position that government has the responsibility to proactively intervene on behalf of the people.”

Gardner said that “when you total the voters under the age of 30 with voters who are single women, African American and Latino, you already have 47 percent of the electorate. This group is growing and it voted overwhelmingly for Obama.”

Smith said the youth vote in 2008 was the largest in U.S. history and it too is “overwhelmingly progressive.”

Borosage said that progressives gathering at the convention in the nation’s capital next week will be emphasizing the need to push on a wide range of issues, including health care reform, rebuilding the economy, the right of workers to form unions, investment in public education and immigration reform.

New Report Exposes Arch Indoctrinator Ayers

Barack Obama's colleague, friend and political supporter, former Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers refuses to go away.

Cliff Kincaids's America's Survival website has an excellent new report online

The Extreme Make-Over of William Ayers:
How a Communist Terrorist Became a “Distinguished”Professor of Education.

Written by educationalist Mary Grabar, the report dissects Ayers, his radical background his educational philosphies and influence.

According to Mary Grabar;

I think that the recent celebrity status of Ayers, and like-minded colleagues like Ward Churchill, the resurgence of SDS, and the cult following of President Barack Obama by young adults provide evidence of the entrenchment of the ideas of Ayers and fellow revolutionaries.

Very much worth reading and saving.

Roger Douglas Slams Gutless Budget-Points to Better Way

Couldn't have said this better myself.

Budget of Broken Promises

Sir Roger Douglas speech to Budget 2009; Parliament

ACT New Zealand

Thursday, 28 May 2009

This is the budget of deficits. A deficit of spending, a deficit of the current account, a deficit of courage, but most importantly, a deficit of imagination.
Why do I say a deficit of imagination? Because Prime Minister John Key and Finance Minister Bill English, like all people who lack the guts to do what's right, have taken the soft option. They have decided to borrow and hope.

The best thing I can say about this Budget is that it’s as good as any of the nine that Labour’s Michael Cullen delivered. Then again, that’s hardly the standard any decent Finance Minister should hold themselves to.
\
After all, during Cullen's term, total Government spending increased in real terms by over $5,500 for every person in New Zealand. That’s how much could have been left in your pocket every year had he not ramped up Government spending. For a family of four that’s $400 a week.

And what did you get for Cullen's spending?

Some of it was wasted on the bureaucratic health, education, and welfare empires.
Some of it was taken off you and then used to turn most New Zealand families into welfare beneficiaries under the Working for Families programme.

Mr English has continued in this vein, increasing health spending by over a billion dollars – an increase of around 6 percent.

And what happened to Bill English’s line by line review, which was meant to cut Government waste?

Well, he managed to find $301 million. Let’s put that in context. $301 million is just 0.4 percent of total Government spending. Was that seriously all he was able to find after Cullen increased Government spending by $18 billion?

National missed an opportunity to cut Government waste by scrapping some Government departments completely. The Families Commission, the Ministry of Economic Development, and the Charities Commission are obvious candidates for immediate abolition.

But what has Labour's response been to modest cutbacks? Outrage.
To Labour, every area of Government is underfunded.
H
aving spent up large for nine years, it believes it can always find new projects to waste money on. I worry that Labour might be right.

When Labour say it would not cut spending, what it’s really saying is it wants higher taxes.

Over nine years Labour tried to tax the nation to prosperity. The only effect was to slash productivity growth, helping us slip further behind the other nations on the OECD ladder.

Our productivity growth under Labour was a third of what it was after the reforms implemented by the fourth Labour Government.

The difference to the average New Zealander is that they receive 25 percent lower wages today than they would have if productivity growth had been maintained.
After nine years of tax abuse are National much better?

Let’s look at their deficits. The annual deficit, in real terms, is a third what we were running back in 1984. Back then, the Government managed to create a surplus within three years.

But that’s too hard for Bill English. Although the deficit is a third what it was then, it’s taking us 11 years to get back to surplus.
The reality is that National did not have to go down the debt path. National had choices.

One choice was to do what National has always done - that is to take all Labour’s policies as a given, tinker at the edges, and hope to manage the system better. It could be the conservative Party it has always been.

The other choice was to look to the future. The Party that looks to the future always sets the real political agenda.

When Labour looks to the future, it sees a larger state, higher taxes, and more control for meddling politicians in Wellington – so that's what we've ended up with.
When National looks to the future it sees itself administering Labour's programmes more efficiently. It is bereft of vision. National suffer from a deficit of courage, and a imagination.

If it wanted a vision, National could have looked towards a future of low taxes, personal responsibility, personal freedom, and prosperity.

Instead, it has chosen high taxes, Government ownership and delivery of social services, and more power for politicians and bureaucrats.

National has continued the trend since 1993 for Governments to take the soft option deciding once again to borrow and hope.

National promised that it wouldn’t touch health, education, and welfare. But those areas make up 66 percent of the Government’s budget.

Saying that it will not even look at ways to open these areas to competition and other reforms is to give up on fiscal prudence and to sentence New Zealand to low productivity growth.

Making cuts to Government spending does not mean denying anyone access to health education and welfare. All it does is change the way we go about offering help to those who need it.

One way to help is to shovel money into the bureaucracy, and hope like hell that it eventually reaches people in the form of decent education, quality healthcare, and welfare that helps rather than harms the poor.

But as we have seen through Labour’s health spending, not all of it goes towards those who need it. There was a 15 percent decline in doctor productivity, and 11 percent decline in nurse productivity. In fact, the only increase in hospital productivity was for orderlies and cleaning staff, and they were outsourced to the private sector!

The other way is to give the money back to those who earned it, and encourage them to purchase their own education, their own health coverage, and their own insurance against risks like job loss, accidents, and sickness.

The most obvious difference between these two systems is who has the power.
In the status quo, the bureaucrat is all powerful. It decides where your child gets educated, it decides whether your medical treatment will go ahead, it decides what level of income assistance you require.

The recipients of handouts – be they parents, patients, or welfare recipients – are treated as children to be managed by a bureaucrat who knows very little about them, and cares even less.

Is it surprising that within this environment, more money does not deliver better outcomes?

The only way yet discovered of improving outcomes while keeping costs down is to restore control to the individual.

Unfortunately for us all, National suffer from the tyranny of the status quo. The only thing they know is to spend and if spending means borrowing, then they will continue to borrow and hope.

Dob in A Red

Auckland Uni Workers Party supporters rallied today in support of comrades recently expelled from Victoria Uni in Wellington

Any help with identifying above comrades would be much appreciated.

A Mars Bar to anyone who can name them all.

Not If-When?

From the Golden Report

Through all of next week starting Sunday May 31st Israel will have the largest civil defense drill in its history, in preparation for war on at least three fronts. We need to know how Israel will function in the event of simultaneous missile strikes from Syria, Hezbollah in Lebanon, Iran and Hamas, the same time having to fight "Palestinian" terrorist’s attacks from the Arab population. The name of this exercise will be called Turning Point 3.

With Bashar Assad of Syria saying that if Israel won’t give up the land then it is war not peace. Hezbollah and Hamas have been re-armed by Iran and with the Islamic mindset of committing suicide is the greatest way to honor their god Allah I’d say we are on the verge of an all out war like Israel has never seen in its history.

Forget the Tamil Tigers-Support the Karen

If people want to support a genuine pro-freedom resistance army in Asia, they should support the Karen Army against the Burmese socialist junta.

A friend of a friend recently made this short video on the Karen during a visit to the Thai border area.

Yes I know Sam-a few leftists do support the Karen, but more I believe as part of their aid for the socialist, student based, rebel forces.

That Didn't Last Long Did It?

Socialist Aotearoa comrade Stu Colquhoun has tossed in his hunger strike in support of Sri Lanka's Tamil rebels after only six days.

Six bloody days? Pathetic. Hardly the "Bobby Sands" scenario I was hoping for. Too much rumbling in your wee tummy was there Stuey?

Surely if you could stomach the Tamil Tiger's suicide bombings, mass murders, press gangings and terrorism, you could handle more than six days without your Milo and Weetbix?

From Indymedia

Auckland university student Stu Colquhoun today finished his hunger strike in support of Tamils being attacked by the Sri Lankan military. The hunger strike which went for six days was to draw attention to the huge loss of civilian life in the recent conflict between the Sri Lankan Military and the LTTE. Stu and the Tamil Supporters group which was recently formed at Auckland University are calling for open access for aid agencys to the conflict zone and immediate action by the New Zealand government to support those harmed in recent fighting.

TV Three interviewed Stu this afternoon and around 30 people turned out to show their support for the Tamil people. As well as students Green MP Keith Locke and Unionist John Minto were present and spoke of the silence of the New Zealand government in the face of huge civilian causalities.

Inevitably Green MP Keith Locke was there-proving once again he never met a terrorist supporter he didn't like.

Shame on you Keithie.

Former Police Spy to Reveal All?

The anarchists are worried. There's a rumor that former police spy inside the anarchist movement Rob Gilchrist, is working on an expose.

From Indymedia
I have heard from a very reliable source that Rob Gilcrest is writing a tell all book about his spy times.

Im told he is about 50% finished and it names people and places and all sorts of stuff.

Anyone heard anything?

Anonymous is freaking out.

Shit this is freaky, will give the right wingers a heap of ammo if true.

If the rumor is true, i'm hoping mr Gilchrist will shed more light on the anarchist/Save Happy Valley/Urewera 17/Green Party connection.

Red Latin America Slides Into Socialist Tyranny

From British Communist paper Morning Star

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has ordered the nationalisation of major iron and steel firms, accelerating his drive to bolster the country's industrial base.

Mr Chavez, who has already brought many of Venezuela's biggest industries into public ownership, announced on Thursday that steel companies Matesi, Consigua, Ceramicas Carabobo and Tavsa would be nationalised.

Addressing jubilant industrial workers in Bolivar state, Mr Chavez said that the latest nationalisations advance plans for the construction of "a single, large integrated industrial complex" that will form a "solid platform of socialism."

"Venezuelan workers are going to give a lesson to the world on how the working class has been resuscitated to make a revolution," he declared, before announcing a wage boost for thousands of workers and a cut in managers' salaries.

From the Communist Party USA's People's Weekly World

Bolivian President Evo Morales has approved a decree allowing the state to seize property from citizens suspected of terrorism or separatism.

Mr Morales said on Wednesday that the measure is needed to dissuade right-wing extremists in the conservative eastern lowlands from launching a violent separatist campaign.

In a raid last month on a Santa Cruz hotel, police killed three men who allegedly planned to kill Mr Morales and other officials in a bid to spark a separatist revolt.

Mr Morales accused several opposition leaders of backing the alleged mercenaries and he warned that "businessmen financing separatist activities will be punished."

Santa Cruz MP Oscar Urenda claimed that the decree, which lets prosecutors freeze bank accounts and seize property belonging to suspects, amounts to "state terrorism."

But Bolivian government spokesman Juan Ramon Quintana said that it only targets "activities aimed at undermining national unity."

Obama File 77 Sam Webb Lays Out Communist Agenda for Obama Administration

Obama file 76 here

Barack Obama has been beholden to the Communist Party USA for decades. From the boyhod mentoring he received from Frank Marshall Davis, to support for his 2004 Senate campaign , ongoing work in Chicago and mass party support in his 2008 presidential run.

Now its payback time.

The Party wants Obama to deliver a new "New Deal"-a massive extension of government and union power that will permanently transform US society.

By using pressure from the "bottom up and the top down", the Communist Party aims to squeeze the US middle class into accepting its socialist program.

The following is a speech given by Communist Party National Chair Sam Webb, at the PWW’s Better World Awards banquet in New York City, May 17, 2009.

The impossible becomes possible

On the heels of the first 100 days of our new President, we heard nearly endless commentary and analysis. Much of it was favorable; and some wasn’t.

I would like to briefly add my two cents

After the first 100 days I would say without hesitation or qualification that the political atmosphere, landscape, conversation and agenda compared to the previous eight years of the Bush administration have changed dramatically.

To borrow an expression of Jarvis Tyner, the executive vice chair of our party, “What was once impossible during the Bush years has become possible, thanks to the election of Barack Obama.”

In this new political climate, we can foresee winning a public option, like Medicare, in the current legislative fight over health care reform.

We can visualize enacting tough regulatory reforms on the financial industry that brought the economy to ruin.

We can imagine bringing the troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan, while being part of a regional process that brings peace and stability to the entire region.

In this new political climate, the expansion of union rights in this legislative session is not only sensible, it’s doable.

Much the same can be said about winning a second stimulus bill, and we sure need one, given the still rising and likely long term persistence of unemployment with the heaviest burden, as usual, falling on communities of color.

Isn’t it possible in the post-Bush era to launch a vigorous attack on global warming and create millions of green jobs in manufacturing and elsewhere?

Can’t we envision taking new strides in the long journey for racial and gender equality in this new era, marked at its beginning by the election of the first African American to the presidency?

And isn’t the overhaul of the criminal justice and prison system – a system steeped in racism and employing punitive treatment as it organizing principle – no longer pie in the sky, but something that can be done in the foreseeable future?

All these --- and many other --- things are within our reach now!

We can dream again, knowing that the gap between our dreams and reality is bridgeable.

We can turn King’s words --- that “justice roll down like a mighty stream” --- into a living reality for every American.

We can re-bend the arc of history in the direction of justice and peace.

But only if we, and millions like us, do our part in these struggles, much like we did last year.

Neither President Obama nor progressive congress people can do it by themselves --- they can’t be the only change agents.

After all, they are up against formidable opposition.

On the one hand the extreme right is badly weakened, but is still a poisonous and reactionary political presence in our nation.

On the other hand, the Obama change coalition includes people and groups that want to cut down on the scope and sweep of the reform agenda.

So both the new president and new congress need our help. Our responsibility is support them as well as prod and constructively take issue with them when we have differing views.

But more importantly – and this is the nub of the problem – we have to reach, activate, unite and turn millions of Americans into change agents who can make the political difference in these struggles.

Changes of a progressive nature, especially major ones--- if history is any guide ---usually combine the bottom up and the top down.

So the challenge facing the discontented of our land is to be the bottom up change agents this year and in the years to come.

Our parents and grandparent did exactly that in the Depression years. Not happy with the pace and substance of change, they sat down in plants and in the fields, marched on Washington, petitioned local relief agencies, lobbied for a social safety net, established unemployed and nationality (immigrant) groups, organized industrial workers, opposed discrimination and racism, elected New Dealers to Congress and re-elected Roosevelt in a landslide in 1936, and turned (not all at once and not perfectly) multi-racial unity into an organizing principle.

I am confident the American people in their millions – reeling under the weight of this terrible economic crisis and yearning for a more decent, equal, peaceful and just world – will follow their example and turn this country into a more perfect union.

Yes we can --- Si se puede!

Now you know every major item on the communist party's agenda. Socialised healthcare, increased union power, massive controls on the finance sector, ending the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars, an heavily regulated "green economy", a second "stimulus" bill weakening of the "racist" prison system.

Put the Communist Party list on your office wall.

Tick the items off as the Obama administration acts on each and every one of them.

Meyer on the New American Revolution-Must Read

Revolution

By Herbert E. Meyer

During the last 30 years we Americans have been so politically divided that some of us have called this left-right, liberal-conservative split a "culture war" or even a "second Civil War." These descriptions are no longer accurate. The precise, technical word for what is happening in the United States today is revolution.

Because of our country's history, we tend to think of revolutions as military conflicts, and of the revolutionaries as the good guys; the image of Minutemen fighting valiantly against the British forces at Lexington and Concord lies deep within our DNA. But sometimes -- quite often, actually -- revolutions aren't military conflicts, and the good guys are the ones trying to keep the revolution from happening. In January 1933, Adolf Hitler was appointed chancellor of Germany by its elected president; he would spend the next two years consolidating his power with the legislative connivance of his political allies in the Reichstag. In October 1917, Lenin and his Bolsheviks took control of Russia from Kerensky and his Social Democrats -- who had overthrown the Czar earlier that year -- entirely through parliamentary maneuvering in Russia's fledgling Duma.

What defines a revolution -- and this is the crucial point to grasp -- is that when it's over a country has changed not merely its leaders and its laws, but its operating system.

Since most of us think of computers when we hear the phrase "operating system" let me use this analogy to illuminate my point: Every computer has an operating system, and most of us are using either the Microsoft or the Apple operating system. If you want to do something with your computer -- send an email, watch a DVD, read an online essay like this one -- you must do it the way your computer's operating system is designed to work.

No operating system is perfect, which is why Microsoft and Apple send updates to their customers from time to time. And every so often these companies launch new versions of their operating systems that incorporate a lot of modifications at once. Can you change the operating system you use? Of course you can. Two years ago I threw out every Microsoft-based machine in our company's office and replaced them with Apple products. Last month I met a corporate CEO who had just done the opposite, and replaced the Apple computers in his office with ones that run on the Microsoft operating system.

Democracies and Dictatorships

Now, just as computers have operating systems so too do countries. In fact, countries have dual operating systems - one political and the other economic. Broadly speaking, there are two kinds of each: Politically you can be a democracy or a dictatorship, and economically you can have either a free market or a command economy. Because countries don't buy their operating systems off the shelf, the way we buy our computer operating systems, each country develops its own versions. This is why our country's democracy is somewhat different from Canada's, which in turn is slightly different from Australia's, and so forth. These countries all have free-market economies, but again they aren't quite the same. Still, the similarities among democracies and free-market economies are more striking than the differences. Likewise, while no two dictatorships are the same, and no two command economies work in exactly the same way, the differences among them are comparatively trivial.

Since no country's operating systems are perfect, can they be improved? Of course they can. Every time our Congress passes a new law, or enacts a new regulation -- or whenever the Supreme Court issues an opinion -- that's the equivalent of an update to our political or economic operating system. Can you change a country's operating system? Yes, you can. And the precise, technical word for replacing one political or economic operating system with another is -- revolution.

When politics in a democracy is normal, the political parties all agree to preserve the operating system while they compete to improve it. This is what is actually happening when one party in Congress introduces a new piece of healthcare or education legislation and the other party opposes it or introduces its own healthcare or education bill, or when two candidates for the Senate argue over whether or not to change our immigration laws. Honorable people often will disagree about what to do -- sometimes quite strongly, just as the software engineers at Microsoft and Apple will sometimes argue through the night about whether a proposed change in the operating system's code is an improvement or just "kludge." But in normal politics the outer limits of all these disagreements are marked by a shared commitment to preserving and improving the operating system.

In abnormal politics, the objective of one party isn't to improve the operating system, but to overthrow it.

With this analogy in mind, now we can see clearly what's been happening in the United States during the last three decades. While conservatives have been working to improve our democracy and our free-market economy, liberals have been working to replace our democracy with a dictatorship, and our free-market economy with a command economy controlled by the government. The liberals couldn't say this aloud, because if they did the American people would have tossed them out of office on their ears. So the liberals worked covertly, feigning support for democracy and for the free market while working diligently to undermine both.

This is why our politics has been so partisan, so vicious, and so deadlocked. This is why words have lost their meaning in Washington, why we can never get to the bottom of anything, why we lurch from one manufactured scandal to another. It's all been part of a decades-long effort by the liberals to throw sand in our eyes -- to keep us from seeing clearly where they really want to take us. (And this explains why, when we question their judgment on some issue, they go berserk and accuse us of questioning their patriotism. They're afraid we're on the verge of catching on. If you want to have some fun, the next time you're chatting with a liberal and he goes nuts when you call him a socialist, say to him: "I'm so sorry you're offended. Please tell me, what is there about socialism you don't like?" You won't get a coherent answer; he'll just accuse you of a hate crime.)

Obama's Two-Front Offensive

With the election of Barack Obama as president, the liberals have launched a massive, two-front offensive they believe will end in victory. They have judged that our public education system is so degraded that only a few Americans are left who even understand what a democracy is, and how the free market actually works. They are convinced that the majority of Americans are too frightened by the current recession to care about preserving the principles that made us the most powerful, productive and innovative country the world has ever known. In short, the liberals are reaching for victory because they believe that history now is on their side.

The speed and reach of their offensive is breathtaking.

At the core of democracy is the rule of law, and we have already lost it. The liberals lecture us incessantly that everything is "relative," but that's not true; some things are absolutes. You cannot claim to be faithful to your spouse because you never cheat on her -- except when you're in London on business. And you cannot claim to have the rule of law if the government can set aside the rule of law when it decides that "special circumstances" have arisen that warrant illegality. When the President and his aides handed ownership of Chrysler Corp. to the United Auto Workers union, they tried to avoid sending that beleaguered company into bankruptcy by muscling its bondholders into accepting less money for their assets than the law entitled them to collect. These contracts, and the law under which they were signed, were mere obstacles to a thuggish President bent on paying off his political supporters.

It's going to get much worse, fast. President Obama has told us time and again that among his criteria for choosing Federal judges will be "empathy." Empathy is a wonderful quality in any human being, but a judge's job is to rule according to the law. Once our courts are presided over by judges who will reach verdicts based on how they feel about an issue -- such as abortion or the right of citizens to bear arms -- the law will be whatever the judges wish it to be; the rule of law will become an empty phrase rather than the architecture of our civilization.

We have lost our free-market economy as quickly as we have lost the rule of law. Money is to an economy what blood is to a body; life and death resides within the organ that controls its flow. The government already owns our country's leading banks, which means the government now controls our economy. (And in all fairness to President Obama, it was the Bush administration that started us down this ghastly road.) One indicator of the Obama administration's real objective: When some banks that had taken federal money attempted to repay their loans, the Treasury Department refused to accept repayment and step aside. This shows the government's goal isn't to prop up the banks, but rather to control them.

Here, too, things are going to get much worse, fast. The government now owns General Motors Corp., is reaching for control of insurance companies, and has launched plans to take over our country's healthcare industry. It even wants authority to set the salaries of executives in industries that, at least for now, aren't being subsidized or underwritten by the government.

Put all this together, and what we have in our country today isn't a democracy and it isn't a free-market economy. Reader, what we have now is a revolution.

This revolution won't be stopped, and our country won't be rescued, by the Republicans in Washington. This isn't because they lack the votes. It's because most of them are careerist hacks who've been playing footsie with the Democrats for too long; with very few exceptions they lack the intellectual firepower to articulate the present danger, and the political courage to stand up to this Administration and really fight. But for the absence of frock coats and pince-nez glasses, these Republicans in Washington remind me of those bumbling Weimar Republic politicians in Berlin who never grasped where Hitler and the Nazis were going until it was too late to stop them, or of those hapless Mensheviks in Moscow's Duma who let themselves be tossed into history's dustbin by Lenin and his Bolsheviks. (Yes, of course I realize it's explosive to keep bringing up the Nazis and the Bolsheviks in an essay about the Democrats. I'm not doing this to be incendiary; I'm doing this to be accurate.)

The Future's in Our Hands

Our country's future now lies within our own hands -- yours, mine, all of us who comprise what the Washington insiders sneeringly call the grass roots. Good, because unless I'm very much mistaken the liberals have over-estimated their strength. There still are more of us than there are of them. I mean ordinary, decent Americans from across the political spectrum who may disagree about specific issues, but who understand who we are and how we became who we are; who love our country, have a genius for self-organizing, and won't let the United States go down without a fight.

We need to launch a counter-offensive, so to speak, and the place to start is at the local level. Working with our county and state political parties when we can -- or working around them when we must -- our objective will be to elect as many people as we can to public office who understand what a democracy is and how the free market works. This will include city council members, county commissioners, school board members, judges, sheriffs and even members of the local parks commission. With the strength and political momentum their elections will provide, we can surge to the state level and then -- before it's too late -- take back the power in Washington DC.

I know this isn't the kind of battle most of us want to fight; we would rather watch the talking heads slug it out on Fox News than stand on a street corner handing out campaign flyers. And given our country's history, for a while it will be uncomfortable to find ourselves fighting against the revolution and for the status quo. But we'll get used to this as we make our case over and over again -- to our friends, our neighbors, at barbeques and PTA meetings and at public rallies like those marvelous April tea parties that drove the liberals insane. And we'll draw strength as our ranks swell with new recruits.

The alternative to launching this kind of peaceful and political counter-attack is horrific. Right now sales of guns and ammunition are rising sharply. This reflects an intuitive grasp by grass-roots Americans of what history teaches may lie ahead. It was only after the Nazis had secured their grip on power in Germany, and only after the Bolsheviks had seized control of Russia, that they set out to disarm and destroy the vast numbers of ordinary citizens who - to the astonishment and fury of the revolutionaries -- just wouldn't go along.

That's when the real shooting started, and when blood began flowing in the streets.

Go Vic!

The communist Workers Party of New Zealand has been taking a beating lately.

For burning the New Zealand flag as an ANZAC Day protest, four Wellington members of the Workers party have been disciplined by Victoria University.

From Indymedia

Victoria University has disenrolled three students for an anti-war protest around Anzac day, and issued a warning to another student.

Deborah Willis, Dean of the Humanities faculty, has disenrolled Joel Cosgrove and Alastair Reith, claiming a flag burning protest they held was serious misconduct. Ian Anderson who filmed the protest outside the Mount Street bar on campus has also been disenrolled, and Marika Pratley who was present, was issued a warning. The university has also banned all four from the Mount Street bar.

The protest on 6 May was to highlight New Zealand involvement in wars of aggression from the Boer War, the World Wars, Vietnam to Afghanistan.

All four students are members of the Workers Party.

The 20 second flag burning, which took place outside, in the rain, posed no danger to anyone” said Workers Party secretary Daphna Whitmore. “Universities are supposed to be the critical conscience of society. The actions of the University are political harassment and an attack on political freedom of expression on campus” she said.

Russian Blogger Slams American Descent Into Marxism

This Russian blogger is very blunt and completely unpolitically correct.

He lays out his analysis of America's slide into socialism with brutal honesty.

From Pravda

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK's Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper...but a "freeman" whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

Starvationist Socialist Aotearoarist Terrorist Supportist

New Zealand's communists are devastated that their idols, the terrorist Tamil Tigers have finally been defeated by the Sri Lankan Army.

Auckland student and Socialist Aotearoa member Stu Colquhoun is fighting back.

Stu has set up a front group Justice for Tamils Students Association and is going on a hunger strike;

• To raise awareness of the urgency of the humanitarian crisis in Sri Lanka.
• To encourage the student body to act as a matter of conscience in appealing to those in a position to influence the Sri Lankan government. In particular:
o To call on the New Zealand government to demand the Sri Lankan government open the conflict zones to UN agencies and NGOs;
o To call on the New Zealand government to impose sanctions on the Sri Lankan government until the above demand is met;
o To call on the New Zealand government to call for those responsible for the genocide of Tamil peoples to be held accountable under International Law;
o To call on the New Zealand Cricket Association to boycott the Black Caps tour of Sri Lanka scheduled for later this year;
o To contact their local MPs requesting the above demands are called for in Parliament.

Go Stu-stick it out until ALL the demands are met.

I can think of no nobler cause than starving oneself in support of suicide bombers and sadistic mass murderers.

Japanese Communist Party Growing Fast

Communist parties all over the world are on a roll-not least the highly strategic Japanese Communist Party

From the Communist party of Australia's Guardian

In the wake of an upsurge in popularity polls, and a membership growing at the rate of 1,000 new members per month, the Japanese Communist Party on April 25-26 held a seminar on workplace issues at the JCP head office for the first time in three years.

Participants shared experiences in struggles against arbitrary corporate massive dismissals by large corporations and exchanged views on the drive in preparation for the upcoming House of Representatives general election and the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly election.

JCP Chair Shii Kazuo in the keynote speech said, “The collapse of the job market caused by large corporations is threatening workers’ lives and livelihoods from its very foundation. It is now a major social issue that casts a shadow over the future of the Japanese economy and society. On the other hand, the most impressive aspect of this crisis is that workers are rising up nationwide in struggles to defend their basic rights.”

Reporting that a total of more than 5,000 workers have joined or established their unions –110 newly established unions and 125 existing unions – and that JCP members throughout the country are pressing corporations through petitioning and holding meetings with various organisations, Shii stated that workers’ struggles against mass dismissals will have a bearing on what Japanese society should be and that it will be one of the major political issues in the general election.

Shii emphasised that compared with the two major parties, the Liberal Democratic and Democratic parties, the JCP’s existence itself stands out because it is a party with members who understand and support workers’ hardships and work hard to reduce them, that it speaks up against big businesses’ arrogance and greed, and that it exposes contradictions in capitalism and shows the way to overcome them.

Referring to the significance of a JCP victory in the upcoming general election and the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly election, he stated, “When the JCP truly represents a majority of workers, it can pave the way for a democratic government that puts the people first. In order to mark the first step in the two upcoming major elections, I call on every JCP member to do his or her best.”

Nick Puts Workers Party on Notice-Well Done!

I'm amused by the infighting inside the communist Workers Party of New Zealand over the expulsion of Vic Uni student prezzy Jasmine Freemantle.

I'm also impressed by the integrity of Jasmine's fightback and the loyalty shown by her partner Nick Kelly.

Nick's a decent and principled guy by all accounts and when he gives away the marxism-leninism thing, could become quite an asset to society.

Nick's not going to take his partner's treatment lying down.

This is notification that I am to boycott the Workers’ Party’s national conference – Workers’ Resistance – being held in Wellington over Queen’s Birthday weekend.
Conference posters advertise that I will address this conference in my role as President of the Wellington Branch of the Tramways Union, about last years’ lockout of bus drivers by Go Wellington management.

Not only will I not be doing this, but I will discourage any other member of my union speak at this event.

This boycott is in protest to the disgraceful action taken by the Workers’ Party against long serving Party member Jasmine Freemantle. Last week the Workers’ Party expelled Jasmine Freemantle for actions in her current role as President of the Victoria University of Wellington Students’ Association (VUWSA).

I am willing to reconsider the boycott of Workers Resistance, but only if the following occur:

a) The Workers Party overturn their decision to expel Jasmine from the Party,

b) The Steering Group of the Workers Party issues a public statement of apology for the disgraceful way they have treated her.

The Workers’ Party’s expulsion of Freemantle demonstrates the lack of political seriousness of the Party, and that in its current form is not fit to lead workers’ struggles. I hope the Party seriously reconsiders this poor decision.

Don't hold your breath Nick.

All far left parties degenerate into this sort of Stalinist behaviour eventually. better you find out now before you waste any more of your life on a corrupt cause.
