It's Semi-official, the Cold War is Back

From La Prensa Latina

Moscow, Feb 13 Russia is expecting an explanation from the US government due to the unfriendly statements made by the US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, a source from the Russian Foreign Ministry revealed on Tuesday.

"We have demanded an explanation through the Moscow embassy in Washington about how much Gates remarks reflect the official position of the US administration," said the spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Mijail Kamynin.

The head of the Pentagon recently called for the Defense Committee of the House of Representatives to increase the number of troops to face up possible conflicts.

"We need a complete range of military opportunities, including ground forces to fight against big armies and flexible units to stage special operations in the anti-terrorism war," said Gates.

"We don't know how this will play out in places such as Russia, China, North Korea and Iran," he emphasized.

Regarding this, Kamynin informed that Moscow was concerned about Gates remarks.

What sort of baseless argument is Russia giving? Vladimir Putin's comments were quite clear.
